I'm busy watching Super Hype Bowl right now, but will dig in deep later. Picks are on the easy side
for now. Two choices are "Heads You Win ect." and "Surfin'".

I can't figure out why you guys don't like "Heads You Win Tails I Loose Bad News" (the last song recorded for the album).
I mean........check this out. It's a little over my head, but.........
According to lyricist Gary Usher, "Heads You Win–Tails I Lose" resulted from an effort to turn contemporary expressions into songs. The song is in AABA form. In the A sections, the typical doo-wop chord patterns are split in half, and then repeated: I-vi-I-vi-IV-V-IV-V. The B section is a more traditional pattern, much like other songs from Surfin' Safari.

I'll go Summertime Blues here since it's a very weak version of the song. Interestingly, this version was the first to follow Cochran's original and unlike Eddie's the lead vocal was sung by Carl and Dave (?) in harmony, Everly Brothers style. (I had a feeling the Everlys had recorded it, but not so, it seems.) Could it have been the Boys' version that inspired The Who? Just a jk thought... I'd be surprised if The Who took any inspiration from The Beach Boys' version. Blue Cheer might've been more likely to inspire The Who's version.

Heads I Win - Tails You Lose has flipped it's last coin (tails, I'm afraid) and is off to walk the Moon-Dawg off the premises.
Let's keep rolling with 2 at a time, now we've made a bit of a dent in the woodie.
I'm going Cuckoo and the Chug.

For me it's a previous choice, "Surfin'", and "County Fair", which spawned the far superior "I Do" and was eclipsed by "Amusement Parks USA" (he said guiltily ).

I'm going with CC and Surfin', since it's the sped up version.

I reckon Alan's borrowed it to go joy-riding, stopping at every pub along the way for light refreshments.

As the best song on the album, it's hiding off to the side in the shadows waiting to be crowned.

"Surfin'" for sure. And... I've had enough root beer. Time for "Chug-A-Lug" to step out.
Leaving my prime spot at A&W. Driving on down to my favorite local place for crinkle-cut
fries and a cherry shake.

But be assured, 409 remains fine and shining and will be back to giddy-up when The P is refreshed. Having said that - if any did want to vote off 409, let me know!

Ok. There have been 27 votes from 14 voters. So someone forgot to vote two songs out.
I’ll give you 2 hours to sort it out.

I don't want either Surfin' or Chug-a-Lug to go yet, I consider them both album highlights, making up my album top 3 along with the title track. I hope there's a last minute flurry of votes for Little Girl.

Seems like Alan will wait until the transgressor clicks another button! He can wait for as long as it takes. (Either he's a teacher or he always wanted to be a teacher )
