The comments on the Still I Dream of It videos made me chuckle. I hope Roger and Kristen made up . Thanks for the links.

In the early 90's David Garland, composer and radio show host used to occasionally pop into my record store in Park Slope. We'd chat about music. One day the topic of conversation got around to Brian. Some time later he brought me an advance cassette of his Brian tribute record.

Sounds a little bit like a smile-fied version of the song to me...peculiar

I wish there was a record store in Park Slope.

That's pretty cool! Unlike many BB songs that - when covered - sound like a new version of an old song, this sounds like a contemporary composition.

Hello, at first I only wanted to post for fun somewhere here in form this insta cover of Emily Bear of „God only knows“ http://instagr.am/p/B0YsX6MnT8x btw. she was part of Night of Proms in 2017 as youngest artist ever as the Beach Boys or at least some Beach Boys were in 2015. But then I was surprised even shocked that in this thread the most relevant Beach Boys cover in recent years - In my room by Jacob Collier was not mentioned. As Emily Bear also Jacob Collier is mentored by Quincy Jones. His debut album „In my room“ which he produced in his small music room in London by himself was awarded with two Grammys for two other songs. In 2015 he played an unplugged arrangement at WDR studio in Cologne. the album version and the transcript and live encore this year in Boston en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emily_Bearen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob_Collier

Wow! Many thanks eulenspiegel - rarely have I ever heard an artist utterly own a Brian Wilson song the way Jacob Collier owns In My Room. Mesmerising stuff; the music just drops out of him. Brilliant.

Here's a Norwegian heavy metal band with their exuberant 2005 interpretation of the Sunflower classic.
Also heartening to see the reclusive Barry Wom reviving his post-Rutles career:

Both of these songs were on Cassidy's album The Higher They Climb The Harder They Fall...I think Bruce produced it. This was released a year after Endless Summer, the year I discovered the Beach Boys. I didn't know Bruce and Carl were involved on these tracks nor even who they were at the time. My brother owned this record back then (as I do now) and when I realized the Beach Boys were involved and Carl was singing background for Cassidy it was a very cool thing. Still is.

I've been checking out the Echo In the Canyon soundtrack after hearing "Questions" on the Garage radio station I listen to in the car. Bit disappointed that every track is centered around Jacob Dylan. I was really looking forward to Neil singing a Pet Sounds tune. It's mostly Jacob, tho. He does another one with Neil that is amazing, "What's Happening?!?!" by David Crosby/ The Byrds. Such an unusual song to cover.
Here's Jacob and the ageless one:

Yep Bruce co-produced this album. Both Darlin' and I Write The Songs charted in the UK, at 16 and 11 respectively. This was before Manilow had a hit with I Write The Songs too. There is also a video out there of Cassidy performing Darlin' on a TV show, with Flo & Eddie doing backing dancing

Thanks, I enjoyed this.
To continue in similar vein, here's a Finnish group Ernos with their 1967 cover of Good Vibrations:
