Wow! Goodbye to the Cali Girls. I seriously didn't see that coming. I thought it was just me on that one.... It may be the most popular of Beach Boys songs, but appears not the most favorite amongst us Beach Boy Gladiators. Seems some may have regrets, well, it's time to wipe those tears, and get on to the task at hand.
From what I have to face, it looks as though I'm going to pick a side of one of the greatest 45 single releases of all time. It's pointing in the direction of 1964, which is 3 out the 5 tracks to pick from. I don't think this will be a popular vote, but I said that about California Girls too... I'm putting a towel in my mouth, to bite down real hard to remove one the greats,
'I Get Around'. One of the great 'chorus's of any Beach Boys song, full of hooks, and earworms too. What have I done!

Aww..... 'Surfer Girl' is one of the most exciting aural experiences one can ever have. It's sonic audio heaven, and now you bad boys want to trash the poor ol' little lonely innocent surfer girl.....

I'm not sure we'll have the high drama of the last round but let's see what we can do. I may have voted for SG last time but that was only because it was up against CG - SG is actually my 2nd favourite of these remaining 5 - so I'm going for IMR, though this could change of course...

Shut Down is the best drag song ever written. It should almost win by default. I went with Little Honda. Not a car and it don’t drag. They race. 😉 It’s bloody amazing, but it’s gonna be close with Shut Down, Little DC and IGA! I'm re-reading the thread this morning... hmm, "Shut Down", and that song about the Honda - gone. "Little D. C." - hood's up out at Paradise Cove... "I Get Around" - Brian and Mike go-a-whistling around the corner in Carl's baby blue Grand Prix... I do think of that as a car song. And she's about a mover! Last of the Car Songs still in play! |

Sensational news!!! There is a hidden immunity idol somewhere on this Forum. If you find the hidden immunity idol, PM me the details of where you think the idol is. The first person to correctly find the idol will receive the following power: The ability to execute one of the following actions: - return a previously voted out song to the game - remove a currently In Play song - remove an entire Tribe from play!!! For the uninitiated, an immunity idol looks like something you might give to your brother-in-law or similar from your first holiday to Vanuatu or similar Pacific Island nation or territory of the USA: ie a culturally appropriated souvenir. Don't worry, baby. I'm not going to vote off our little surfer girl. Well,
not this round...
I am so sick of being stuck in my lockdown. Still haven't gone out to
dinner, other than take-out, in a year and a half. Bought tickets for a
live show, but now regret it. Will need a hotel room, but waiting to do
that, too. Definitely not signing up for booked room insurance. Some
Sam Beam shows have already been cancelled, or have been moved
until next year. Another Covid strain coming along? Ugh. Did I hear
that right? Bored, and want to go out for some fun. A drive? Yeah,
it's safe to do that. Moanin' boy goes looking at the changing leaves.
What a thrill. Sorta... Anything to get out of this place... this room.

I've been out for a family meal once, during the UK's 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme, which my wife organised (and cases were relatively low at that time so I couldn't not go) but I've said no, given current conditions, to another one proposed for next week at an 'all you can eat' place. Do what you can Will and hang on in there. |

'Don't Worry Baby', everything might not be alright, but I'll hold on to you as long as I can, I'm still giving the 'get around' song the flickeroonie.
Looks like there's still some love that little Surfer girl, although the sharks may be out this round to take her to the bottom.
It's becoming very clear to see that there are not going to be many winners or losers in this game. As we purge the creme of the crop, it's become more of a game of 'eenie meenie minie moe'....
On that note, 'Round round get a round, I get a square'.

When I lurked this morning Surfer Girl was all but wiped out so I figured I’d come back later and nudge FFF into the game because it was all on its lonesome with no votes. But hey, skulduggery has prevailed and it’s my pleasure to lock in that FFF decision if it puts a bit more daylight between it and SG.
