Dennis could write stunning ballads, some epic in nature and others more simple and heartfelt such as Forever. But with All I Wanna Do, it just doesn't get any better, Carl's trippy production paired with one of Mike's greatest vocal leads, it's truly the dog's bollocks

Vote for YOUR FAVOURITE (Do not vote off your least favourite). My favourite is All I Wanna Do, so I'm voting for All I Wanna Do. This is a quickie, so poll closes tomorrow. Quoting this so that it's visible on the current page.

The track is brilliant - even stripped down - here. Even wordless.
On the other hand, I can't ignore how Forever was resurrected and opened the door to millions more new fans. The impact is undeniable.
How do we weigh impact on culture and revival of an old song?
Still looking for a live version from the 70s...if anyone comes across one.

If it can’t be cool cool water, and it can’t be Deirdre, and it can’t be This Whole World... and it can’t be... Uggh!!!!!!!!! I like Forever. I don’t love it, I think that Lady is a much better show of devotion, but it’s the one I picked here.

And the better song won this time.

Alan, while we all wait with bated breath for you to recover from your short but impressive break, we were wondering if you'd paid a visit to this place recently. It's on Mornington Peninsula, probably at the end of your street, and seems to have a fine selection of craft ales. Going by the poster, it appears that one of our other Mods is a big fan too

LOL I haven’t been there in person but I have purchased some of their wares - good little drop. Unfortunately, there is an Ale Fad in Australia at the moment - unfortunate because Australian Ales are by and large fizzy passionfruit juice, or worse IPA’s. Getting a decent lager is quite difficult these days. Ed, the cans don’t let in light, so the beer stays fresher longer.

One of Mike's very best vocals after 1966. My fourth favorite song on Sunflower.

In Summer time, 2 minutes for the first can, 3 minutes for the 2nd, 4 for the 3rd, and so on.

OK, This is it for Sunflower Survivor - who will win.
Vote FOR either - This Whole World or All I Wanna Do - the song you vote for is the song you want to win.
Two amazing songs, although I am a little surprised, in a delighted way, to see All I Wanna Do in the top 2.
I'm going to vote for This Whole World - I think the rambling melody and the scope of the lyrics has just that little bit more fairy dust than All I Wanna Do.
Get voting!!! Poll will close in 24 to 30 hours.
If you have found the hidden immunity idol somewhere on this forum, this is your last chance to let me know.

I am going with one of the best pieces of sunshine pop ever written, This Whole World. Great song, great arrangement, great vocal from Carl. It is just 2:20 of pure pop magic.

I voted for "AIWD" -- it's my all-time favourite BB track, so how could I have voted for anything else? Nothing against "This Whole World", hahaha. The title is most apt: it's precisely that -- a whole world of its own crammed into less than two minutes. So much going on there, much of it buried deep in the mix. So thanks be to Joshilyn for isolating those guitar parts. (How that one person could have given her revelatory video the thumbs-down is utterly beyond me.)

Yeah, good call-out re H’s breakdown video, jk. It certainly turned my thinking around!!! Who the hell gave it a thumbs down?

The immovable object vs the irresistible force, what a choice. As much as I love AIWD, Connor MacLeod was spot on; there can be only one. Dazzling, bewildering, here and gone before you know it and arguably a verse or two short of being totally orgasmic, This Whole World wins hands down.

It is This Whole World for me. All I Wanna Do is probably my 4th favorite song on the album after This Whole World, Slip On Through, It's About Time.

But I'm not sure in that era that it would have flown as it might now. Country, sadly, was very stereotyped. Once country music became sexy and cool - that would have opened the door, but not in the 60s and early 70s. It was kind of early to make that crossover.

I'm going with my gut, and voting for All I Wanna Do. Love them both, but if I had to pick just one song from Sunflower to listen to forever (no pun intended) it's All I Wanna Do.
