CCW is losing... what is this world coming to I love CCW, but like Forever and All I Wanna Do more.

I've grown to love every song on Sunflower. Bruce's songs, as great as they were, stood out as different. "At My Window" is too great on vocals for me to chop away just yet. I'll vote off "Forever" before considering "Our Sweet Love". I was only eighteen when I first heard it. Yet to fall in love for the first time. The song is one of hopes and dreams. And one of Carl's best vocals, ever. My favorite on side two. Maybe it's the hippie that still lives inside me at 68. Maybe it's because of the one I married 3 February 1980. That is a sweet love that is still going on. The song has been a part of my life for so long. Won't be voting for that. Hope you don't either. Guess if I have to pick it's "Tears In the Morning". As with most of Bruce's songs, it seems more of a solo track than a Beach Boys number. If they had made this a two record set, I would have placed it before "At My Window" to open side three.
Ya - I agree but do you think that Our Sweet Love should have been a single? In an odd way it was the BB mojo back in 1970 similar to Do It Again - the unmistakable voice Carl just pouring out of that radio speaker almost like another God Only Knows or Surfer Girl. I could see a radio DJ being able to take a deep breath - and relax for 3 minutes of the airplay. It is easy to get exactly what Fred Vail was talking about. I think if some of the more "dedicated" fans had known about the radio station hostilities toward the release, we might have been able to inspire some persuasion to play them more; like phoning the request line at the stations, which was a big deal then. And, I think whoever was making those decisions - was just not reading the audience at that time in that space - a non-political love song and a breather from all those heady anti-war songs where you could just breathe and think, without that overbearing intensity of the time. They didn't need to pander to a hippie culture - with the name Sunflower; they were already well-established. They had only hit a speed-bump with things over which they had no control.

Well, Hulllllooooo there!!! Sorry about the delay, but here's the sensational news from this heat - Cool, Cool Water is gone! And so is Our Sweet Love!
Such cruel, reckless and inhumane acts have rarely been seen in BB fandom - I'm so proud of you all, well done!
Now for another cruel twist - Tribes Side A and B will now merge into Tribe Sunflower Survivor. And we will vote off our two least favourites - be strong, peeps, I know you can do it again!
I'm away for the weekend, so take your time and the poll will close around 2pm on My Monday, which will be 10pm Sunday night in the USA and 3am Monday morning in the UK (suck it!).

Voting off my two least faves leaves an atmospheric delight and an insane yet seamless number of chord changes in under two minutes.

So. CCW is gone. OSL is gone.
What’s left? Oh me oh my…
I have to vote to include the two Brian tunes; all four remainers are swell but the BW tracks are swellier.

Please, on your return, tell us what that feels like. I can’t remember the last time I had a night away from home (unless it was the family holiday to Devon last July). The only night I’ve had away from my own bed for the last eight or nine months was when I had a “sleep over” in my son’s bottom bunk. If your sense of pity is appropriately strong enough, perhaps you could slip CCW back into the poll… show mercy brother!

Not as difficult as it might seem. Add Some Music has been flirting with the door for a while, time now to push it through.
Of the others, you have Mike at the very top of his game, revealing a hitherto unheard vocal finesse, including a spiffy stab at falsetto, and a dreamy lyric to boot. This one stays. So do the bewildering key changes and sheer inventiveness of This Whole World.
Which leaves Dennis, who had been dallying with greatness, but who wasn't quite there yet. He'd already demoed WIBNTLA but wouldn't return to it for another eighteen months, and even then we'd have to wait decades to be stunned by it. Such a shame, he'd be there at the winning post otherwise.

I don't think Add Some Music To Your Day would have lasted this long if we hadn't been doing the two sides separately.

Keeping Add Some and Forever for the same reasons - Lazarus. "Forever" resurrected after nearly 20 years, to be wildly popular, (by that guy with the mullet) doing Denny proud, and "Add Some," likewise revived, by the Band with the kids! Does rock music get better than that?

I voted off two as requested, "Forever" and "ASMTYD".
Voting off just one screws up the results and is an insult to Mr Smith and all the hard work he's putting into this game.

This isn't an insult - it's just me not playing the game right. Alan's on a nice 3-day holiday and knocking back a few anyway so he won't care. I just rescinded my single vote and will now abstain from further voting 'cause I can't bring myself to vote off 'This Whole World' and 'Forever'.

Nice work, M, although the voting is still all to cock (as AGD would say) thanks to two other posters. Pity. I hope Alan is enjoying his brief holiday in Bologna...

Last October, a week on the Isle of Wight: in retrospect, superb timing. That aside, since October 2018, just the one week away in Rye, November 2019 (but granted, the majority of that was less to do with CoVid, more because of my partner having a hip replacement in January 2019). Rye, btw, has the best chippy in the known universe.

Nice work, M, although the voting is still all to cock. Huh?? All to cock = messed up. And I'm not being profane! The verb "cock" means to move something from its usual alignment or kilter, to set it askew, askant or awry ( source).

Sorry, John, I fear filling you in will only contribute to making your remaining 15 or so years of parenting MORE painful than what they’re going to be. Oh, alright then - it was bloody marvellous! We decided to take a "City" holiday rather than going to the regions, so we stayed in a GROOVEY hipster hotel in Carlton called Zagame House - around 5pm on Saturday evening, we nipped down to the bar and each had a glass of Italian Prosecco, then a Wagu burger and a steak respectively, followed by 2 Espresso Martinis each to keep us going through the killer Canadian musical "Come From Away", playing in the city, a mere 15 min walk away. On Sunday, after a breakfast of authentic Italian Padina's, strong long blacks and a browse in Melbourne's finest bookstore, we lunched at Matteo's in Brunswick, and opted for the 5 course Tasting menu matched with Premium Wines, which commenced at 12:45, after the downing of a Parisian style Cocktail. Starters were: Appellation Sydney Rock oyster, crumbed prawn sandwich (mine was swapped out for Pork Belly 'cos I'm allergic to prawns (shrimp)), ocean trout rillettes ‘cigar’ smoky baba ghanoush & tapioca cracker, wagyu bresaola grissini matched with a super dry '11 Semillion Chardonnay Entree was Ora King salmon, Hiramasa kingfish, Yellowfin tuna with cod roe whipped with smoked oyster finger lime dressing and cucumber matched with a 2019 Victorian Reisling. Entree 2 was a pasta filled with braised oxtail & mortadella mushrooms dressed in truffled–porcini sauce, with a 2014 Mount Mary 'Quintet' Cabernet blend to cut through the rich delights that were making me swoon. Main was Duck breast roasted with leatherwood honey, duck parfait, roast beetroot and blackberry sauce, matched with an NZ Pinot. Finally, desert was served around 3pm and comprised of an yuzu lemon gelato surrounding a strawberry-guava sorbet, with foamed coconut cream. Because we were such great guests, the Australian desert wine was upgraded to a French Saterne. We hiked back to the hotel through the streets of old Fitzroy, and then at 6pm caught an arthouse Australian film called Baby Teeth. Finally passed out around 11:59pm Sunday, I think, then made it home by lunch today, avoiding any long journey home traffic jams. Hmmm, what to do next long weekend?

Ok.... Add Some Music has been removed!!! Done - the tribe has clearly spoken!!!! But due to Mikie being a very naughty boy and some else whose post makes me suspect they didn't vote for 2 songs, All I Wanna Do and Forever are tied at 11 votes. So, we have to vote again to decide who stays vs who goes - the tried and true team of the Wilson/Love alpha-males, Brian's amazing bed of melody buoying Mike's seductive and comforting canticle going head to head with the heart-wrenching affirmation that no-one saw coming from that pesky middle Wilson brother who they thought was too busy stealing the limelight and bedding their wives. Vote for YOUR FAVOURITE (Do not vote off your least favourite). My favourite is All I Wanna Do, so I'm voting for All I Wanna Do. This is a quickie, so poll closes tomorrow.
