I watched the show through the lens of that telephone camera, and the show was pretty well what I expected it would be. Lot's of missing cues especially from Brian... As he ages, his vocals continue to deteriorate, not only not being on pitch, but his timing is straying a lot more than usual. At this point, we see just how great Matt Jardine has become in all of his band roles now, as he has become one of the 'main' men. Darian is still knockin' it out of the park, and the band overall, pretty solid. First show of course, sometimes it takes a few to get into the groove. They really are trying to push this 'machine' along, but it seems to be getting harder to push. Let's see how the following shows go....

Why can’t people turn their phones sideways when filming video, to get a normal wide screen image? What’s with the vertical screens? I absolutely hate it!
By the way, I just found this Oct 31, 2016 Brian Wilson 50th Anniversary Pet Sounds Tour concert film from Basel, Switzerland on YouTube, professionally filmed with great sound. For some reason, “God Only Knows” is missing. It may be old news on this board, but was new to me.

I’m rather worried about Brian at this point judging by the latest videos. He doesn’t seem to have the timing of songs any more.
I normally wouldn’t miss him in the UK but I’m just not sure this time.

This summer's tour was postponed late November... then very shortly thereafter the Chicago tour was announced. Understandably, there's a lot of very unhappy fans over here.

Still find it very interesting that Randell of all people is taking Rob's place. Could be the connection with Probyn as they were both in California Surf Inc at the same time at some points. Might get tickets for the July 24th show I think it would be fun.

Fan in the parking lot here in San Clemente stopped me because I was playing the new Beach Boys album very loud and just give me a thumbs up and said thank you because she loves hearing it. She said she'd seen Brian last week I don't remember what what show and her feeling was that it was very very sad. She said Brian didn't move around much and was sad to see him in the Walker and his singing efforts were not very strong and all she said was sad sad sad and then she pointed to the radio which was playing surfer girl and said let's remember that. That's all we have. Just very poignant.

I think he can double Brian’s for a very strong effect. Rob’s great as well, and he was absolutely fantastic on the road with Mike a few years ago.

Judging from some photos from the Red Rocks show, it looks like Rob has returned.

Turning the "should Brian be touring?" debate on its head... do I want to pay to see Brian touring ? I've not done that since 2016. Should he tour the UK again, will I ? Yes, because odds are it'll be for the last time. I've seen Brian triumphant - BWPS, TLOS, Gershwin - and I've seen him struggling, as in 2016. If I see him in the UK again, it won't be for what he brings to the table, it'll be for who he is and what his music means to me. Just the one more time I owe him that much, and so much more.

For me, a Brian Wilson concert is about being in the same space as the great man, the music is secondary

I've had to go onstage when I could barely sing due to the flu or worse, and it ain't fun. Especially when I'm the lead voice on 15 out of 17 songs.

Wishing You Were Here, with Al and many members of Brian’s band. That song, along is worth the ticket. Robert Lamm, and the background vocals channeling Carl. First time I ever heard that song, I was in a car, it was intro’d as a Chicago song, and could pick Carl out - later finding out, yes it was the great ! ❤️🎶

A good soundboard of one of those shows exists somewhere on the 'net.

Always thought the Boys should have covered it with Dennis taking the lead.

Granted it was only the first verse, but that's the best I've heard him since before the pandemic.

I don't know how anyone could disagree, but it's Brian, so someone will.
