I see someone has deleted their "Darian is lying" post. Fortunately, the quote of it remains. Ah yes.... they also took out a lot of the other nonsense gibberish in that post as well. They either came to their good senses or didn't get the bite they wanted....

It’s hard to believe that That’s Why God Made the Radio is nine years old already. But I think No Pier Pressure is also great, and is only six years old. Just because Brian is putting out an album revisiting his songs on piano is not proof he still can’t produce something great. But at age 79, maybe he doesn’t want to! The album may have been released six years ago, but a lot of the material dates from the late 90s. I find the general distaste for "Runaway Dancer" amusing because it's really not that different to "Talk Of The Town", its original incarnation. As for the album itself, it's not aged well, and has always suffered from being what it was supposed to be, but isn't: a Beach Boys album. I honestly still like the album a good bit and didn't mind the guest vocalists. I even like "Runaway Dancer" even if it seems a little bit odd coming from Brian Wilson. This is the only BW solo album I still listen to quite regularly. As for the piano solo album, what I've heard so far sounds pleasant but it's probably not going to be something I'll be listening to very extensively. To each their own I guess. I'm more looking forward to the new song(s?) he recorded for the documentary.

That's a stunning photo. Would have made a great album cover for the new album!

6/10 and brief review in the latest issue of Uncut, who call it "a curious beast... Undeniably moving" though "many of these songs also feel like polite recital pieces, so that Wilson often sounds like a shadow of himself."

I've changed my stance on this release. I keep finding myself returning to the rendition of Wouldn't It Be Nice. Very cool. I'll be picking this one up now.
That is also a lovely photo of Brian posted above.

As they say, 'There's them that do, and them that do....... eventually'. I can even see a day when 'SIP' will develop an underground hard core fan-base.

So... hope we'll have a video clip or a promo film to watch him play! That would be interesting.
There would have to be a split screen I guess, cause I seem to hear two pianos.

If Brian layered and overdubbed tracks, for the last 50-60 years, and used the human voice as an instrument, what would prevent him from doing that same thing with a piano, to create that effect?

Brian: There are always bits of new melodies in my head but nothing complete enough to inspire me to record.
That’s disappointing. It indicates we’re a long way from hearing any new songs from Brian, although perhaps there’s still a backlog of material. Whatever happened to the “rock” album Brian’s been talking about for a decade?

Just a quick and dirty photoshop - I'm no expert. By the way, how do you get the large picture to appear here, instead of a small thumbnail version?
