I now introduce Tribe Car Club to BB Lifestyles Survivor, the game where you have to have a flipping good hard think about each song from the lion's share of Pre Pet Sounds albums (except those noted in the first post of this thread!) and then vote off your least favourite songs from each clutch!
Lucky number of songs to vote out this heat is 3 - I've decided to eliminate a couple of instrumentals that are quite toe tappingly nifty, but also Spirit Of America, which is a song I've always found a little on the clumsy side and maybe something Brian could have passed off to Jan & Dean or Gary Usher.
Anyway, go bananas, it's time to out-wit, out-play, out-ast - Out-Standing!!!!

My three choices this time are "This Car Of Mine" (a little threadbare), "Ballad of Ole' [!] Betsy" (one of those final descending chords is unpleasantly wonky to these discerning ears) and "I Get Around" (I've always regarded it as a song of youthful joy rather than a car song).

Boogie Woodie and SDV2, each of which are fairly OK filler level instrumentals, and Cherry Cherry Coupe, a song that I like, but not as much as the others.

Now what to do with those silly comedy gimmick songs and tracks that don't explicitly fit in to a Surfin', Cars, Love Songs - create a fairly dubious tribe called California Here We Come, that is an acknowledgement of the gang's chronicles of life under the warm California sun, but also the glamorous gaze of Hollywood and West Coast Showbiz!
Again, lets vote off 3 tracks and start working towards some tribe merging and the eventual determining of a BB Lifestyles Survivor!

Four voters in and it's all to cock already.  Brian's hysterical laughter forced me to vote off "APUSA". Next up was the Sonny/Cassius track, which I still feel served a purpose at the time -- for example, where else could Al fans hear him talking? And lastly "Bugged", which is what that track does to me.  |
