Cody Parkey is now officially a marked man in the city of Chicago. I've seen this kind of thing happen before there (Steve Bartman incident). I'm not exaggerating when I say that he needs to pack his belongings and get outside of Chicago city limits as quickly as humanly possible. His career as a Bear is over. That's a tough way to lose a game, but it stinks when fans completely lose perspective and forget that, it's just that, a GAME. My Ravens had a tough loss at home to the Chargers, but I thought it was a tall order to beat a very good Chargers team twice in a two week span. I'll be pulling for the Chargers and the Chiefs this weekend.

Somebody actually changed the poor guy's Wikipedia page to read "Cody Parkey is THE WORST KICKER IN NFL HISTORY" last night. I mean I can understand being mad at the outcome of a game, but to take things to such an extent is ridiculous IMO.
There's a pretty good movie from years back with Patton Oswalt that deals with this sort of thing called Big Fan. Might be time for me to watch that one again.

Just got home from an Eagles' football party and...the party's over. But, hey, I wrote the Eagles off about two months ago and they turned their season around and gave their fans a lot of thrills. Nick Foles probably played his last game for the Eagles. Thanks for the memories, Nick, and good luck!
And, the NFL should be happy. They got their four best teams going at it next weekend. It doesn't always happen that way. Could this be the first Super Bowl win for Andy Reid? Another one for Belichick and Brady? Are the Rams still the powerhouse they were earlier in the season? Can Brees win one more?

I was a little disappointed as Divisional Weekend is usually the best round of the playoffs.
The NFC games were pretty good. But, the Chiefs and Patriots were in control of their games from the start.
Im hoping the Chiefs play like that again on Sunday.

That Patriots/Chiefs game was one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. A lot of controversial calls - by the referees - that are going to be debated for a long time. Also, I think there is STILL something wrong with the overtime rule(s) that the Chiefs never got the ball in overtime.

Seems like it is either feast or famine with referee calls. They either call everything under sun or hardly call anything at all, like tonight’s game. Typical Andy Reid outcome tonight.

Typical Andy Reid outcome tonight. Yep. It happened in Philadelphia and now it's continuing in Kansas City. We'll see what happens next year. At the start of next season, I think the Chiefs will be favored to go to (win?) the Super Bowl.

If the Chiefs assemble even an average defense, they'll go far. Patrick Mahomes will raise a Lombardi in the near future.
For now, I hope it's Goff's turn.

I also want to add that the officiating in both Championship games should be an embarrassment to the NFL.
The no call PI at the end of regulation in the NFC game was one of several terrible calls.
And the bulls**t "roughing" call on the NFL Golden Boy in the AFC game was trash. Officials shouldn't have so much effect in the outcome of conference title games.

I was watching Golic & Wingo this morning, and they brought up this obscure NFL rule where, because of the bad call by the official, the Commissioner has the ability to intervene and order the game to be resumed at the time of the call. Now, as they mentioned on Golic & Wingo, that will never happen because of the Pandora's Box it would open and the dangerous precedent it would set. But, still, it could happen. How great would that be if Roger Goodell ordered both the Saints and Rams to report to the Superdome tomorrow to resume the game with 1:49 left in the 4th Quarter?

I saw a post on FB yesterday that PI calls / no calls are reviewable in the CFL. Considering the impact they have on games, I really think the NFL needs to look into this, as well as personal fouls. And they can have an official upstairs to make it faster rather than the super slow NFL process of walking a device onto the field.

Happy Trails to Kansas City Chiefs' defensive coordinator Bob Sutton - and the three timeouts Andy Reid didn't call in overtime to give his defense a break!

At this week's Super Bowl, Gladys Knight will sing the National Anthem and Maroon 5 (joined by rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi) is performing at halftime. Are you tuning in?

As a football fan, I'll of course be watching the Super Bowl. I'm hoping to time it so that we use halftime as a time to get the baby to sleep to spare me from Maroon 5 and two rappers I've never heard of.

The Patriots are a 2.5 point favorite. Doesn't mean much...
I don't have a horse in this race. While I usually root AGAINST the Patriots because of their history of cheating, I do respect what they accomplish year after year. Same with Brady. I never considered him the GOAT, but he's starting to change my mind.
I knew the Rams were talented, but I wasn't sure if they were ready for a Super Bowl appearance or championship. Gurley is a stud but I think Goff is still unproven; Goff hasn't been through enough wars.
On paper, I think the Rams are stronger (don't forget their defensive stars and kicker Zeurlein). But how can you bet against Belichick and Brady? Well, I will. I thought the Chiefs would smoke New England and the Patriots won. But, after the first quarter and especially in the second half, the Chief's offense basically did whatever they wanted. I don't know if the Patriot's defense can shut down Gurley, Anderson, Cooks, Woods, Zeurlein, and, yes, Goff. Rams by a field goal.

OK, prediction time! Who will will Super Bowl LIII? The winner gets bragging rights for one year. I'm sure that will entice everyone to join in.
Los Angeles Rams - 33 New England Patriots - 30

I'm rooting for the Rams, but I think the Patriots are going to edge them out. Patriots - 27 Rams - 24

Dirk was closer on the final score than me, but we both picked the Patriots.
Another NFL season comes to an end. I was hoping for more from the Rams tonight.

I agree about the Anthem. The commercials were once again a little underwhelming. I feel like the commercials have lost the luster of years past. I think part of the problem is that many of them leak online in the week leading up to the game, so there's no real surprises. We didn't watch the halftime show. Maroon 5 is about the music equivalent of paint drying, and adding two rappers to the mix didn't make it sound any better. I like defensive football, but that was just a sloppy game.
