FYI, the belts on cheap turntables are made from bat-wing leather.

If I had back the time that I checked this posting to see if there was any substantive news I could actually have taught myself to play an E flat on the guitar It seems that we are on the right way... but remember that The Beach Boys are... The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys LOL. Ironically, in the time you've been checking this posting, the tuning should have dropped enough for you to be playing in E flat.

So... which beach boy is withholding the “BIG news”? Well DUH ! It's Mike, of course - who else could it possibly be ? It's been scientifically proven that Mike's responsible for everything bad that's happened since the Big Bang.

Phil's not exactly a 'the glass is half full' kind of guy, is he?

Phil's more of a "there will never be a glass" guy.

He’s extremely knowledge about a wide range of music and the different releases of that music and the machinations, etc, but almost always negative about the process of bringing about those releases and the industry itself, and the bands, etc etc…
If he could just top that glass up…

If this was projected to be released in February '20 (wasn't it) I wonder has it been "completed" since then?

If this was projected to be released in February '20 (wasn't it) I wonder has it been "completed" since then? I believe so, Howie said he saved the whole thing a couple of times... I think it's all legal quibbles right now, let's hope they get along with each other.

I wonder if someone might have challenged the writing credits on a song or two? Individual band members had a host of contributors during this era and I'm sure the actual credits could be a messy tangle.
Howie's statement was as frustrating as it was encouraging, leaving us dangling without an explanation for the current lack of a scheduled release… all for good reason, no doubt, however.
There is tough competition for dollars in the boxed set market at the moment, what with Goats Head Soup, Flaming Pie, Plastic Ono Band, Richard and Linda Thompson, Fleetwood Mac, Mansun, rumours of a couple of Tull boxes and more on the horizon.
Hard to reason whether the Feel Flows box would be best left until the Christmas shopping period, or at least officially announced now so that more casual fans and the market at large can at least make the decision to put money aside for it.
What'll happen will happen. As a hardcore fan I'd love to have a copy, if it does get released, but I already have a huge BBs library to keep me going for a long time time if it doesn't come to market and three of those box sets already ordered (two of which I'll cancel if the Feel Flows set gets announced before they hit the shelves (or the Amazon racking systems)).

I once worked in entertainment law--admittedly movies not music, but boy those people could argue for a LONG time about credits and their exact wording and presentation, even about how long a pause should appear between each credit on the screen...while the billable hours racked up...

Important quibbles to have, IMO, then, now, and in the future. Credit where credit is due makes a difference for decades to come and beyond.
Whatever the case may be about what is holding things up (or who) Howie was kind to fill us in. Seems to me we should try not to get him kicked off the next project by abusing the info he shared.
