Do we know who the women are in that picture? Are they the backing vocalists on Too Much Sugar?

Do we know who the women are in that picture? Are they the backing vocalists on Too Much Sugar? Or "Let's Go To Heaven In My Car"? Weren't they credited as "The Beach Girls"?

The photo of the BBs minus Brian exists and was used in some 1960s magazines-it was cropped to fit in that “mirror” So what is the little rounded white arc between Al and Carl at the bottom? The way that mirror is sitting on Brian’s lap, it sure looks like his knee in white pants. Does anyone have that particular pic of the Boys without Brian? Cropped the "reflection" image around the knee reflection of the Brian image to enhance the deception? I think I would have cut out the Brian image so I could slide around over the reflection image to frame it. Not that knowledgeable but I suppose you could cut and paste or maybe masks with two exposures on one sheet?

You know the story behind the second photo, don't ya? The one with Brian and the group? No way that’s a mirror... 😝 Is it a mirror or a framed photograph? It is interesting - whichever it is. Is it a metaphor as a mirror - that they are his ambassadors on the road? A puppet concept is a de-humanizing concept, in my opinion. You can be a leader and share concepts and ideas without being domineering. Or even a school concept - now that we have Zoom classrooms - that you are constructively present - if you are not physically there and present in real time.

well thats Alexandra Morgan on the right. it's probably from 1990, cause brains and genius have blond hair.
yeah this lady tori eldridge posted back when love and mercy came out, about doing session work in 1986 w/ landy and brian. "I also have vague but pleasant memories of shooting a music video at an old-fashioned drive-in burger joint where we lip-synched our parts while roller skating with trays of hamburgers and fries"
i asked if it was let's go to heaven in my car and she said no.

That is interesting. I wonder if Gary Usher was around, or if this was completely separate from those sessions as well.

Alright ... for those still thinking this is a freaking mirror, zoom in close where Brian’s edge of his forearm meets the picture. See the odd black blotch out of alignment with the straight line frame edge?! It’s a cut and paste.
Were I a betting man I would say that Brian was holding a mirror because the size and cheap frame are perfect for those ready made long narrow mirrors you buy cheap to put on a wall. However, it may just be a picture of something like a landscape. In either case The Beach Boys were added later. Cut and paste on top of whatever was in the frame Brian was holding.
I actually can’t stand this picture aside from the fact that people think it’s a real reflection of The Beach Boys when it obviously is not... simply because Brian’s finger nails look nasty. Early stages of the Howard Hughs thing going on there. I remember in Mikes book Mike made mention of Brian having always been very clean and manicured and that reality going to hell when the drugs abuse started. Ignoring simple hygiene is a very common sign of mental problems.
**Edit**Lost the image.... it’s the one with the “mirror”

Apparently "is-it-a-mirror-or-a-picture" is a never-ending discussion. (It´s not a mirror.)

Wasn’t this picture knocked together to illustrate a piece Pete Townshend wrote for NME or Melody Maker, about The Beach Boys being Brian Wilson’s puppets or something along those lines? If you zoom in, all their shirt buttons are as they’d appear in a regular photo, so it ain’t a reflection. endlessharmony.boards.net/attachment/download/1231

Those were not the type of frames commonly found, but as a mirror, yes, for behind a door or on a wall. It is the touring band set up so Brian may not have been available or for press promos/publicity photos, with those band-signed 4x5 photos.

Back then, it was literally cut and paste when combining photos like the composite image we're discussing. Ah, the old days of Xacto knives, rubber cement, rubylith, and retouching paints.... all a very physical and multi-stage process.

Brian simply took a photo of the Beach Boys off of his wall and held it as another photo was taken. There were stories written at the time about that very photo hanging on Brian's wall.
