Brian playing Long Beach Terrace Theatre CA on August 29th.
Or is it October 6th, which is what the Ticketmaster link says. Dilemma.

Any thoughts on how Brian will perform given his last tour when detached is a kind word for his stage presence?

One solution would be for Brian and The Mike/Bruce band to just play the same gigs but with a revolving stage that turns around after each performance. Different stage entrances and exists, but you got the whole operation packed up in a single touring unit. They could even play the same sets and with the same backup musicians but with a double sided mirror so one stage sees Brian, Al and Blondie, while the other sees Mike and Bruce? Then if/when Brian ever decides he’s suddenly had enough, they can just run Mike around to the other stage and it’s suddenly a “Beach Boys” gig! Either way, you got name draw.

Hwell....the "SURFSUP" pre-sale code isn't working for the Waukegan show. yay.
UPDATE: After noonish, I tried and found that if I put the code in *again* after the failure, it took. What happened: I entered "SURFSUP," got the invalid code message, and interestingly, all the checkboxes EXCEPT for "artist presale" unchecked themselves. I put "SURFSUP" in the text field again, and then it was accepted. (This was NOT happening at 10:00; no matter how many times I put in "SURFSUP," it failed.)
Sooooooo...now I have good seats at the Genesee!

I can have a second row center ticket right now but I'm just not sure if I'm ready to go back to concerts. This coupled with the rather lackluster nature of the last two Brian shows I attended (both were Pet Sounds performances) is giving me pause. I kinda feel like a traitor if I dont go, since he's right here in town and I don't even have to drive this time, but still... I'm not sure....

I've not seen a UK BW show since 2016. Not paying high coin to see someone who neither wants to be there nor is bothered about giving an acceptable performance. I'd pay to see the band on their own, no question.

A lot of people feel that way. The way I see it, we went years thinking that the thought of seeing Brian in person in ANY way was so unthinkable that it's not even laughable. Given how badly I wanted to see him for a long time, if he's going to be somewhere I can get to easily or want to visit, I'll be there. (But if you told me that the last time I saw a Brian show would be the last time I'd ever see Brian, I wouldn't be disappointed -- after consistently doing shows almost every year since 1999, I won't complain when he packs it all up.)
But yeah, if the band did a show WITHOUT Brian, I'd still happily fork over some buckage to see 'em. They're amazing. (And I sure as HELL am not going to go to another one of those shows by the two guys whose lawyers said they could use the name "The Beach Boys"; that was two hours I'll never get back, and I don't want to waste any more of my life on that.)

Well, going to the M+B show two years ago was the opposite of wasted time for me. A great concert. Too bad they chose to spoil my appreciation by playing gigs for truly evil people.
But I'd go to any concert consisting of Beach Boys music in the vicinity, be it with original members or not, even with original members in bad shape.

The last year or two I must say, is the first time I've really felt that the touring Brian game is up. To look at his tour schedule, how does a guy in his condition even remotely consider taking on such a task? I've got 'cold feet' about what his shows may be like, or moreso, Brian's involvement with the shows. I'm sure the band will carry the show, Al seems to be holding up well, but he has also taken pretty good care of himself. I worry for Brian. It's not just the shows, but it's the traveling, which is tiresome in itself. Is he really in any kind of condition to travel and perform? Surely he does not 'need' money, so I don't know what the purpose is at this point in time. For a lot of us, the brutality will turn up on terrible sounding YouTube clips, but will also show
an artist who should be 'probably' put out to pasture, and I mean that with the greatest respect. I'm sure Brian, in true Brian style, may throw out a good performance! Those moments however are becoming much more fewer, and for a guy who's also 79 years old.

Well, given Brian's been off the road for 18 months, it's the first show back and, well... it's Brian, that's not bad at all. I'll be honest, I was expecting much worse. Happy to be proven wrong.

The Ol' Boy is holding up, a little rough around the edges however.
If he pulls this of during the whole tour, i'll be quite amazed. Brian can go either way.... As much as I think he should call it a day, it's darn great to see the Big Fella!

Saw this show Sunday night at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center Terrace Theatre...probably my 6th time seeing Brian solo live. The venue is small (maybe 3000 seats) and very cozy. An intimate show experience for sure.
With our musical heroes dropping like flies lately, I'm so glad I got to see him once more. I went in with low expectations because he'd been off the road for 2 years and, quite frankly, he never seemed that comfy on stage even going back to the earliest Pet Sounds shows or the Roxy show. Also, I was excited to see Al & Matt Jardine, and Blondie in the fold.
They started out with a bang doing "California Girls", "I Get Around", etc. They threw in some special songs in celebration of the new Feel Flows set. I was ecstatic when Blondie sang "Feel Flows", "Long Promised Road", and "Sail On, Sailor". Blondie was a highlight as he wailed on his guitar for a couple of blistering extended solos! At that point I started gushing to my girlfriend about Sunflower and she couldn’t have a given a **** less as I explained the band’s lesser-known rebound in the 70’s.
Brian was fairly well present for most of the show, although typically perfunctory. His voice was in surprisingly good shape, and well augmented by the band's usual pitch perfect background singing. He did appear to tune out for a few songs in the middle of the set and weirdly started singing the first line of "Sail On, Sailor" but then seemed surprised when Blondie took over. Wasn't sure what to make of that. Matt Jardine has completely taken over the "Don’t Worry Baby" performance and does so flawlessly.
It was roughly a 1.5 hour show with all the usual numbers to close it out ("Do It Again" was an absolute highlight of the evening"). The audience was very engaged and those in the lower level (I was in the balcony with a great view BTW) danced and sang the show out. Once the frenzy cooled down, he played "Love and Mercy" which was as touching as ever.
Overall this show far exceeded my expectations and I was happy to have been there.

That was right about when Brian disconnected. Brian sang it, but not well. It appeared that he had no interest in performing that song. He was barely audible until others jumped in. So as a curiosity, because he'd never done that tune on a solo tour, it definitely registers, but it was a very low point of the show IMO. Awkward.

Was Brian talk-singing, as he's been doing over the last few years, or has he gone back to singing?

From the clips I've seen, he's singing better than he has since about 2017.
