All remaining 2022 shows cancelled due to Brian's health issues, according to his management.

Well at least they are not advertising them as Brian Wilson's final shows. I suspect he'll be on the road another 20 years.

If he is, I'll be there to support him.
I think that if he had his druthers, he'd ruther go out NOT as Brian Wilson but as something like "Brian Wilson and Al Jardine of The Beach Boys," but there could be legal issues in that...basically to take the focus off him. The last two Brian shows I saw...excellent shows, but the least significant factor: Brian's physical presence. It would make sense if he and his group could tour under a different name, but the thing is...Brian has name recognition. And the BRI lawyers might not allow him to use "of the Beach Boys" in the name of the group for various reasons.

So we can count on at least 5 more years of Brian being dragged onstage, looking miserable, struggling to make his way through the catalog.

Seems odd that Brian and Mike & Bruce will be in Europe so close together. They've usually kept a fair distance in time between their shows.
(Obviously they've not announced anything even on the same side of the continent as each other yet, but it seems likely that both groups will list more European shows given the gaps in their schedules...)

I attended Brian's show at the MGM Grand near DC last night. I swore 2016 would be my last BW show, but a free ticket and the chance to hear Feel Flows in person persuaded me to venture out on a cold Wednesday night
River Deep, Mountain High (Intro)
California Girls
Dance, Dance, Dance
I Get Around
Shut Down
Little Deuce Coupe
Little Honda
Salt Lake City
Surfer Girl
Don't Worry Baby
California Saga: California
Do It Again
Let Him Run Wild
Darlin'
Heroes and Villains
Feel Flows
Wild Honey
Sail On, Sailor
I Can Hear Music
Wouldn't It Be Nice
Sloop John B
God Only Knows
Good Vibrations
Help Me, Rhonda
Barbara Ann
Surfin' U.S.A.
Fun, Fun, Fun
Love and Mercy
It was a continuous just under 90 minute set, no intermission or encores. Very little onstage banter from anyone, and no band intros. I'm thinking since it was at a casino, they were told to keep the set tight so people could go gamble or get some food. But, I'm not going to complain about a show that ends at 9:30pm.
Brian was alright at the beginning, but seemed to lose interest as the show progressed. He missed his cues quite a few times, and often didn't join in the group harmonies. The band did a great job, as always, picking up the slack. Matt's vocals on Let Him Run Wild in particular were quite good. I loved finally hearing Feel Flows live, but honestly, I think Darian would be a better fit than Blondie on that one.
All in all, good show. Brian was expectedly not good. Great music though. I wish I'd have seen a Great from '68 set, but it is what it is.

A noble pursuit to give it a shot kds. I’m not sure even a free ticket could get me to go see my favorite artist of all time. That’s how bad my experience at the last show I went to was.

For the sake of completeness, a private gig on 1/23 has been added. I'm told it was for the "high rollers" at the casino. From comments elsewhere, it seems that the show the previous day was also more a private show than an "open" one, but not entirely "closed" (confused ? Me too).

Two Japan gigs are confirmed today: May 6th, 2020: Tokyo Garden Theater, Tokyo, Japan May 7th, 2020: ZEPP Namba, Osaka, Japan Both are advertised to be "Brian Wilson Celebrates Pet Sounds and Greatest Hits with special guests Al Jardine & Blondie Chaplin", so no more "final performances". www.creativeman.co.jp/artist/2020/05brianwilson/

I'm going to get myself a ticket and I'm excited for seeing Brian (and Al & Blondie) on stage for the first time, but I'm not sure if I really want them to come to Japan, where a coronavirus epidemic is going on, right now. Also, I worry about it being cancelled/postponed because of that.

Yes I am surprised by these shows. Since baseball games are being played to empty stadiums and the Olympics might be canceled, I can't imagine that any concerts are allowed to go on especially when all these schools and I believe also the universities are closed. Wishing all the best to our brothers and sisters in Japan for their good health and security.

Interesting: while the Tokyo venue has a capacity of just under 2000, the Osaka gig will (apparently) be held in a soccer stadium that seats just under 40,000 (ZEPP Gamba are the local J-League team).
But of course the current coronavirus outbreak may well render this all moot in the extreme.

But of course the current coronavirus outbreak may well render this all moot in the extreme. No, Zepp Namba has capacity of only 2,513 people, and 1,206 when seated( www.zepp.co.jp/hall/namba/, scroll to the middle). Gamba Osaka, the soccer team, has nothing to do with this venue, I believe.
