Who are the string players on Take A Load Off Your Feet? EDIT: And from my understanding they’re violas? We believe they are violins, played by Anatol Kaminsky (Concert Master), Sam Freed, David Frisina, George Kast, and Nathan Kaproff.

All of these 5 are primarily violinists, with a couple having several viola credits - v common double. But since nothing in their parts dips below low G on the violin, there's no reason to think they are anything other than violins.

Hmmm. On Craig’s sessionography for Bambu, Love Remembers Me has an uncertain credit. That being whether or not the 12-String Electric was Carl Wilson or Earle Mankey? Any updates on that?

You know what, I think it was Carl. I’m not sure. Do the session tapes indicate his presence?

Hey speaking of Good Time... who played the clavinet and bass? I thought it was Daryl and Al respectively, but is Al on the afm sheet? Is Bruce on there instead?

Incidentally, there's not an AFM for a lot of these interior-type sessions where they didn't hire outside the extended band.

And that means Al didn’t play anything on Love You.

Do we have any information on The Nearest Faraway Place, other than the Piano & Fender Rhodes being Bruce?

Do we have any information on The Nearest Faraway Place, other than the Piano & Fender Rhodes being Bruce? Bruce plays the keyboards, Chuck Berghofer plays upright bass, David Cohen guitar, and Jim Gordon and Alan Estes are drums+percussion. Going off Craig's sessionography, Don Peake plays guitar, electric bass, and percussion

Last question until I head off to bed (so I won’t see this until morning), but who played on California Feelin’ (the L.A version that we got on MIC)? This is probably one of my behemoths.

This was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami. The Boys set up shop there for about a week in late August/early September '78, in the midst of a big tour (including several dates in the southeast). Their road band at the time (Bobby Figueroa, Ed Carter, Carli Munoz, Sterling Smith, Phil Shenale) all played on it. Plus Brian on piano and Carl on guitar. Brian utilized Studio A at Criteria, while Dennis was ensconced in Studio C across the lot, working on LOVE SURROUNDS ME.

So what keyboards did Carli, Sterling & Phil play? I hear electric piano, organ, and Minimoog.

So what keyboards did Carli, Sterling & Phil play? I hear electric piano, organ, and Minimoog. Carli played organ, per Ed Roach. Phil Shenale tended to play synthesisers, so he's probably on that (which here is an Oberheim OB-1), leaving Sterling Smith on the Rhodes.

Do we know who plays the percussion and the horns on Break Away? I know the drums were Allen Breneman
And what about Celebrate The News?
