To mark the founding of this new price monitoring thread, Amazon UK has agreed to drop the price of not one, not two, but THREE of the Sail On Sailor packages:
6CD super-deluxe: “Sail On Sailor 1972 has decreased from £99.80 to £98.73” (lowest ever was £97.33 so not as low as that, but I think this is currently the lowest on the U.K. market for a new box) Super-deluxe vinyl gets a substantial drop of almost £20: “Sail On Sailor 1972 has decreased from £149.99 to £130.49” A piddling drop for the 2LP&7” set: “Sail On Sailor 1972 has decreasedo from £43.45 to £43.34”
Anyone in the US (or other countries/continents) care to reveal what Amazon.com/etc is charging, please? Cookies make it very difficult for me to check that these days.
Edit: Amazon.com has the 6CD box for $122.99, roughly £98.49, & $10.99 shipping to U.K. (along with any duties and handling charges)… forget that!

Ebay US has it for $99.98 - free shipping for the 5 CD set, down a full 20% from the long-running $125.00 🇺🇸 price point.
Good work John, having us pay better attention to our money. You need to be thrifty these days. 🏄♂️🎶❤️ 💰

Interesting! According to my browser they’ve got it at £104.24 and have for a while - guess it’s another territory/currency fluctuation issue. They had it at £133.75 when I started monitoring a few months ago, so a decent price fall. Just not decent enough!

I'll wait.... Keep the price updates flowing!

Right now Amazon Au are listing the 6 CD deluxe with cheese for $189.05 AU free International delivery, which equates to 100 quids 90 pees's or 6/12's of 500 guineas and a parsons hayp-knee.

How low will it go? (I sprung for it when it came out, I'm afraid...)

How low will it go? (I sprung for it when it came out, I'm afraid...) I’d like to think £60 or less, comrade. But I might spring earlier as I had an Amazon voucher or two for my 21st birthday last month.

Musicmagpie currently flogging the 2CD version on eBay for £16.95 with free postage (U.K.). Not a bad price.
(Though for comparison’s sake, the 2CD version of Feel Flows: Sunflower & Surf's Up Sessions 69-71 can be bought for £8.70 with free p&p from “newcastlelee” on eBay U.K.)

The silly part is, there's 200 bucks worth of good stuff on here. I just refuse to pay 200 bucks for the inclusion of the main albums they 'fluffed up' big time on the set. Yes, I do have other copies, but it's not the point. Maybe I'm 'petty', but that's how it is.

Might be cheaper for you to get it from one of the European stores where the prices has toppled. Imusik.dk for example?

Wasn’t there once a band called Thrupenny Bit?
“ Sail On Sailor 1972 has decreased from £98.70 to £98.67”

John, not sure if any of this will help, but back in 2021 a friend who was at the time working at a local Amazon Fulfilment Centre with access to their global intranet sourced a copy of the Feel Flows set which had been returned by a Belgian fan as slightly damaged to an Amazon site near Brussels. Specifically, the (picky) purchaser had sent it back because the shrink wrap along the top was split, the box itself being otherwise undamaged. We managed to get this, postage free, for a dear pal of mine who was permanently skint, for a very reasonable twenty three quid.
If you search ‘Amazon Warehouse’ on their site you’ll be surprised at the bargains to be had from returned goods, but usually it will only list those clearance items available in your own country. You’ll probably need someone on the inside to navigate through more distant lands.

Many cheers Pete, I do keep a vague eye on warehouse deals though they’re very few and between. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a BBs set come up there! They do sometimes get listed under the main entry, as an alt vendor.

When all of this was happening, I was told by my friend at Amazon that the amount of returned vinyl was phenomenal, but as it was mostly considered unsaleable the majority of it was destroyed. Apparently if a vinyl LP had been returned because the buyer had changed their mind, the fact that it was still sealed didn't seem to matter a jot - it was now dead stock. Beggars belief.
