Betcha the "she don't know" part is a leftover from that...I mean, how in the world would those lyrics fit in the context of YNAMOHTSA??

I hope they include “Beatrice From Baltimore.” Do we know if vocals were recorded for this? This was the original title of the song, but it was rewritten before the vocal sessions. So no, the only vocals on that track are the ones you hear on the album.

I also remember reading that “Marcella” was rewritten to avoid too much information about a Hollywood massage parlor Brian frequented. I wonder if there’s any alternate lyrics recorded for that one.

Perhaps they would have had more success if they rewrote “You need a Mess of Help” as a surf song - “You Need a Mess of Kelp to Surf Alone.”

I think you are correct. So I guess if you take your feel flows box set and retitle the Mess of Help track and backing vocals… you’d have it

My Dad was told by a source (identity apparently withheld) with access to Tandyn Almer that part of the missing words in that "Beatrice" verse was moving in the direction of the "blue" version of "Ding Dang"--if the "Chicano rumble" part wasn't objectionable enough in its own write! According to that source (reliability unconfirmed) the final two lines in that first verse were: "Don't ask me more 'cause I'm trying to score/With little Beatrice from Baltimore..." Of course, there's still a couplet missing in between the "rumble" line and this one, that would be where "I need some soil for my grass will grow/I need some spark to make my candle glow" appears in the released version. Given that, it would be fun if there were a tape of it as originally conceived, much like that infamous "Sail On Sailor" demo. The more artifacts we can collect of the bizarre "fun, fun, fun" that swirled around Brian at this time, the better: they are always intriguing, to say the least! My Dad's best guess was that Brian and Tandyn were smashed/stoned when they came up with the tune, and it seems clear that it took on a new life a bit later, when Carl heard it--per the comments in the interview supplied in another thread by SMILE-Holland--and helped to flesh it out (with a lyrical rewrite from Jack Rieley).

UME said “this fall.” We’re still slightly more than a month from “this fall” even starting. Al said November. November is still months away. Usually these projects are officially announced about 6-8 weeks before release. So… probably around late September. They seem to really like Thursdays to announce these things, and they’re always released on a Friday just like the rest of the industry.

FWIW, the release dates of the entire CopEx programme have been: 12/17/13 - The Big Beat 1963 [Tuesday] 12/3/14 - Keep An Eye On Summer - The Beach Boys Sessions 1964 and The Beach Boys Live in Sacramento 1964 [Wednesday]
11/20/15 - Beach Boys' Party! Uncovered and Unplugged (physical release) [Friday] 12/11/15 - Live in Chicago 1965 [Friday]
12/9/16 - Graduation Day 1966: Live at the University of Michigan [Friday]
6/30/17 - 1967 - Sunshine Tomorrow (physical release) [Friday] 12/8/17 - Sunshine Tomorrow 2 and Live Sunshine [Friday] 12/7/18 - The Beach Boys 1968 - Wake The World (The Friends sessions) and The Beach Boys 1968 - I Can Hear Music (The 20/20 Sessions) [Friday]
12/27/19 - The Beach Boys 1969 - I'm Going Your Way EP [Friday] 8/27/21 - Feel Flows: The Sunflower & Surf's Up sessions 1969-71 (physical release) [Friday]
I believe a pattern can be discerned here... and mostly on Fridays.

the global Music distribution being on Friday didn’t change until July 2015. Before that, it was Tuesday here in the US, Monday in the UK, etc. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Release_DayThat explains why the first two were on Tuesdays, in 2013 and 2014. Btw: the 2014 sets were released to iTunes on December 2 (Tuesday), not the third.

Return to form for Linett and co, I'll be beyond ecstatic. The same audio issues as Feel Flows/Sounds of Summer, I'm out.

Please let there be an entire live disc! Given the (relative) paucity of studio material, I'd say that's pretty much a given.

As opposed to elements of FF & the entirety of SoS which, sadly, were “bad“ product.

That’s a reasonable line of thought - as a content provider in another field, eating feedback can be challenging and confronting - but taking the opportunity to change and grow in line with the constructive criticism usually pays off.

I really hope they give it a try to mix/edit the original single In Concert album. We got Heroes And Villains from that aborted LP (on the Endless Harmony soundtrack), but I'd love to hear the whole set.

i’d rather them include a full show, then try to match some really short single lp that was probably around 35 minutes or so.
