When you buy it, I'll miss the thread! When I buy, that’ll be the end of that thread unless anyone out there’s lurking and wants to pick it up!

A separate thread has been created for the tracking of price adjustments for the So Tough/Holland boxed set. Going forward, the original thread subject matter will prevail here.

So basically, I'm not gonna lie, and I mean no disrespect, but I wanted to reach out like, about the optics of this and say let's go offline in order to banish the use of words and phrases like going forward. Sorry Mikie, saw the BBC article at link and couldn't resist

Sorry Mikie, saw the BBC article at link and couldn't resist Geeez, tough crowd! I try to win the blokes over here and what do I get? Flak! "Going forward, I'll take heed. No more starting sentences with the word "So". As in "So tough".

To be clear, I have no problem with the use of any of the words or phrases cited in the article - English is always evolving (and the article points out that 'gonna' for example has been around since at least 1806) - and was just having fun with using them.

I'm not gonna lie. Basically, I'm reaching out so we can touch bases and verify our core competency here, so we can all get buy-in. We need to take this thread to the next level, give 110%, and increase our impact.

And the article points out that 'gonna' for example has been around since at least 1806. Thanks for that, Barns. I didn't know that until now. I use "gonna" and "wanna" often in my informal writings to my friends and co-workers. Kinda translates everyday speech into writing in a phonetic way, you know? I was looking at a long list of Brit and Aussie slang terms the other day and I cracked up!
