Since this is Survivor, does anyone want to join my alliance to save Slip On Through?

I voted for "Add Some Music to Your Day" and "Deirdre".

Since this is Survivor, does anyone want to join my alliance to save Slip On Through? Good luck, but my vote was made yesterday... "Slip On Through" is my favorite Dennis song on Sunflower, and in my Top 5 of all of his stuff. 1969/'70 were his peak years, for me.

Since this is Survivor, does anyone want to join my alliance to save Slip On Through? Only if you’ll sponsor my petition to reinstate CCW!

The longer I am alive the more I appreciate This Whole World. It has skyrocketed up my list of favorite songs. Frickin masterpiece.

Diedre is easy to drop 'cause it's one of the 3 wimpy songs on the album.
And since there's no way in hell I'd ever drop "This Whole World", I'm gonna hate dropping another rockin' Dennis song. Slip On Through is going to have to be the other one unfortunately.

Deirdre n’ me have reached the end of the road. And Slippin’ lacks the subtlety of the two other survivors, so… Loving the poll, Al, relishing the power! With great power comes shameless irresponsibility.

Time to scorch the Tribal kitchen. You must vote off TWO of your least favourites from Tribe Side A this heat. Yep! Digging your new avatar, Alan. I voted off "ASMTYD", as before, and "This Whole World", more as support for the two other tracks than a condemnation of "TWW" -- heaven forbid! Thanks, jk - I’ve had it up the sleeve for a while but only just found out how to successfully post a gif on Proboards (resize to 150x150). I was keen to use a gif of a “throbbing” ear until one of my young adults pointed out the gif looked like a certain body region requiring a bead of soothing ointment.

Since this is Survivor, does anyone want to join my alliance to save Slip On Through? Slip on through has a special place in my heart....i was living in Melbourne when I first got into this album and slip on through just seemed to match the energy of the city and where I was at mentally/spiritually at the time. In particular I remember a day I was given a sugar cube at a bar near the uni by a fellow from footscray, which led to an odyssey of a day which included Bach-fest (ft. some beautiful choir and orchestra performances under the towering figure of a massive classical organ whose pipes seemed to be breathing in and out in harmony with the music), a bit of emphatic tree hugging, and a meandering and error-ridden journey to fitzroy (slip on through as the backing track of navigating rainy trolley and subway transfers) to finally arrive at the warm apartment of a passionate italian woman who made me one of the best pastas ive had in my life....over champagne she professed some deep feelings that I did not reciprocate but sometimes I wonder what kind of path that would have led me on.....she admitted she did not handle jealousy well and i could imagine an alternative universe of ambrosial gnocchi and treatment of paring knife wounds after looking the wrong way at the girl from the grocery....needless to say i was 'taken for a ride' that day and nearly slipped on through to the other side

Wow, that's some story there, @barto. That must be the Fitzroy of the "little band scene", right? I bumped into some great stuff by Use No Hooks not so long ago...

Why am I getting the feeling that this poll is being strung out until "ASMTYD" is voted off ?

Deirdre doesn't Slip On Through, she's OUT!!! And It's Oh Dear for Slip On Through, also OUT!!!
Time for Heat 6 - you must again vote for your two least favourites, but this time from Tribe Side B! However, you will be prevented from seeing the results until after you have voted, so keep an eye on things if you want a precious darling to survivor.
Keep up the great game play - some dastardly deals are being done and baseless accusations are starting to fly - Excellent!!!

Tough choices, but "Cool, Cool Water" & "Our Sweet Love"

Oooff, yes. Well, I'm gonna stick with "Forever" and add "Cool Cool Water". "Our Sweet Love" is the quintessential Sunflower track in my book. The ambience, the slender amount of musical material, the fact that it's over before it begins (something it shares, for me at least, with "That's Not Me")... As for "All I Wanna Do", no way am I throwing out the song responsible for my damascene moment! I think I'd rather do a Mikie and drop out until the next album.

Pretty cool area for musos although a little under threat due to new development trashing old venues and the lockdown impacts. Pity. It's a fascinating and (for me) untapped area of music. I was introduced to it by Mylene at Hoffman in a song title game, when the name Whirlywirld cropped up. She was familiar with the scene first-hand.

Tougher than ever! Gone for the chugger one and the unintelligible one.
(And I’ve withdrawn my CCW petition … as a newbie I’d not realised this was an A-side/B-side thing… silly me!)

CCW was easy for me, but the second choice slightly, far less difficult. Our Sweet Love
