Saw this thread on that other board- and thought I'd start it here too-to my mind the best BW interview I've heard post 1973...Clearly if you caught him on the right day BW still had his act together in 1977-very lucid and verbose interview.

I don't think BW has talked this much in the last 500 interviews he's done-combined!!

I don't think BW has talked this much in the last 500 interviews he's done-combined!! I saw this. It was from 1977 as part of THE KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR. I remember hearing it when KBFH ran it and I taped it. And yes, it is one of the best interviews Brian has done.

Aired 5/22/77. I had a friend who worked at a fm station back then he gave me tons of kbfh tapes after they aired, including this interview. Came on four reel to reel tapes. Lost all that in the fire but i had made a copy if it so i still have it. Only half of that interview was uploaded. The part missing is even better than what was uploaded. Special was called “a conversation with brian wilson”

Yeah. It ran almost 90 mins. I didn't listen to the online clip, does it have him talking about cutting You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'?

Excellent - thanks to the OP and now I will listen to Love You through a different lens.

He doesn't really talk about Love You so much as he does of 15 Big Ones and "Barbie". At times he is speaking so fast that a transcript would be nearly illegible but you can get what he's saying by his tone or inflection. Is there really more to this and whatever could it be about?
