Ladies and gentlemen, The Doors! Welcome to this thread where we will listen to, enjoy, and discuss the music of The Doors - Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore. Topics will include music, not just by The Doors, but also by Ray, Robby, and John as solo artists. Now, this thread will break on through to the other side with a performance by The Doors at the Isle Of Wight Festival on August 29, 1970:

I got a copy of the Isle of Wight 1970 concert for Christmas. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Happy 73rd Birthday to Robby Krieger! Robby is releasing a new album in 2019. This is the first single from that album. It's nice to hear that familiar Robby Krieger guitar sound:

I finally watched the Isle of Wight Blu Ray I got for Xmas. Despite Jim's lack of stage presence and the lighting issues, I was pleasantly surprised.

I always thought it was a fine set; I had the bootleg for years. As you mentioned, despite Jim's laid-back demeanor and the poor filming, the band was at the top of their game. It's been written ad nauseum about Jim's erratic performances and drunken antics on stage, but almost every Doors' concert I've heard - and I've heard a lot - features a really outstanding performance from Jim.

Agreed. Musically, its amazing. I was almost bracing myself for Beach Boys circa 1981 type stuff.
