...if you had the chance. I'll start.
What was your contribution to the writing of WIBN?
Did you help write, review, or approve, the complaint of your 2005 lawsuit?
Why "Wrinkles"?

I think the answer to that first question is obvious: he wrote the words that are sung over the tag ("Good night, oh-oh baby, Sleep tight, oh-oh baby").

Unless it is something more surprising, like melody or something.

As a Dennis fan, I’d like to ask him why they didn’t try to save him ‘til the very end. But I don’t think it’s a good start question... If I will meet him I’ll probably ask him “can we sing a couple of tracks together right now?” And “Can you take me to the tapes vault and play something unheard?”

How much of All I Wanna Do did you write? What kind of room did you have in mind?

What was it like to be in the presence of Adrian Baker?

I'd ask what his daily exercise routine entails. The guy is seemingly in fantastic shape for his age. (Knock wood.)

I'd ask him, with hindsight, how he feels now about the Summer in Paradise album. He does mention the title track in his book, but I can't recall any details at all about the recording of the album. On the other hand, he spends several pages recalling the creation of Kokomo.
I'd also ask him what motivated this recent flurry of recorded product. Glad he is doing it, but surprised he didn't do it years ago.

He was in mourning. Wrinkles had just gone to doggy heaven.

Would love to ask him in-depth on his thoughts on material that he’s never really been asked about before, like When Girls Get Together, Looking Back with Love, Wrinkles, the Summer in Paradise album, Break Away, Big Sur, Cool Cool Water, Drive-In, the three Celebration albums, TM Song, Hey There Momma, Loop de Loop, HELP is on the Way, and the Caribou album era (in an article around the time, Mike talks about the album and recites a few lines from “Don’t Let Me Go”, which he apparently wrote with Carl). Would also love to hear his recollections on hearing Brian demo the Love You material, because as the tapes show, he was REALLY digging what he was hearing!

As a Dennis fan, I’d like to ask him why they didn’t try to save him ‘til the very end. Well, they did suspend him from the band multiple times between '79 and '83 (with reduced pay), on the provision that he get help before returning. And earlier in '83, they offered to fly him and Shawn to any rehab center of his choosing and cover the cost (I believe he went to a facility in upstate New York for awhile, and possibly one in Arizona - at least they wanted him to go to the latter). But multiple attempts at detoxing failed, and in the end what they apparently did was kick him out with no pay, while behind the scenes they were planning an intervention for after the New Year - which sadly was too late (this last tactic is pretty much the approach they took with Brian a year earlier - they even toyed with the idea of putting Dennis under Landy's care, which I don't think would've worked, simply because Dennis wasn't Brian, and wouldn't have put up with it). So I don't think it's fair to say they waited 'til the very end.

I knew they tried to save him, I didn’t know all these details, just a few. Thanks for explaining.

I’d like to ask Mike how he felt at the time about Ricky and Blondie joining the band, and whether everyone else in the band’s circle was cool with it.
And then I’d like to ask what he thought might have led them to leave, and whether he thought their departure impacted negatively on the band’s more recent contemporary credibility.

I'd cut to the chase.
Myke....You've destroyed...
Brian Wilson Dennis Wilson Van Dyke Parks The Beach Boys Legacy Put your horrible fun in the sun lyrics on every Beach Boys album ever created And your nasal pitch singing is causing solar flares so bad it's likely to lead to the end of the world as we know it.
Are you sorry?

Interesting topic Cam. My questions (whether or not other posters have already asked): - What is your opinion now of Summer In Paradise, Stars and Stripes Vol. 1 and That's Why God Made The Radio? And not about band politics or whatever. Just the songs, the overall content, and how the albums did commercially.
- Why has hardly any of the Celebration material nor your first solo album ever been released digitally? Is it a rights thing or do you just not think anybody cares?

Think you're on the wrong board. I'm on the right board! A little satirical reminder of how great it's been that we don't have to put up with that crap anymore. Lest we never forget Jokes aside...I think I'd ask Mike what his favorite era of touring/live shows has been. Stripped shirts and screaming girls? Seeing the crowds get huge again after Endless Summer?

I would ask him if I could get my hands on (and record) the song he wrote with Murry when he was 10.

Mike, you've released three solo albums in the last three years, all on CD. Is there any chance of your older albums Looking Back with Love and Celebration getting a CD release?

Honestly, if I was ever in a situation where I could ask Mike stuff on a conversational basis (I've met him several times, but only ever in settings where he's been "on" and dealing with many people, not an interview or one-on-one situation) I'd probably ask him about his love for fifties R&B, and how that influenced the band. I've seen him mention, in passing, a lot of people like Johnny Otis and the Robins who are not exactly obscure but who are the kind of people you only mention if you're actually interested in that stuff. I think you'd probably get some interesting insight into his own contributions to the music by talking with him about influences like that.
