There are plenty of M&B summertime outdoor shows that the reviewer would love. Meanwhile, we in the US pine for a setlist like the ones UK fans get.

I assume you weren't singing along with what you thought were the lyrics? Imagine your embarrassment if you HAD been, and had been heard...! No, would not dare to have sung that... was rather shocked the sweet sounding Beach Boys could sing a dirty lyric. Pretty sure I would have minimally been sternly warned to never sing that again . It took a couple of years before I figured out the real words, blame it on the crummy record player we had. Little did I know that during the 20/20 sessions Dennis and.....you know. I've never been to a Mike and Bruce show so it's on me for not knowing GTMB has been in the shows. I thought 2012 was a nice stopping point for me for my own reasons/hang ups as far as seeing any of these guys live anymore. I've never been a need to see them as much as can be person since Carl died. I'm reconsidering.

If you can, try to see them in a theater, as the setlists tend to be a little longer than outside shed shows.

Mike commented several times on the Tuesday night about that Telegraph review, doing the whole "are you *sure* you want to hear us play all forty-seven songs? That seems like a lot, maybe that reviewer was right" thing.
The second show was the exact same setlist as the first. Mike sounded a little stronger on the Tuesday, but I think they had some sound problems on stage, because there were a couple of missed cues by different people (twice Scott had to do the thing Foskett used to do for Brian and start singing when Mike didn't come in), Eichenberger and Bruce were a little pitchy at points in the first half, Mike had to change his in-ear monitor at one point, and I noticed during "Kokomo" in particular Scott was seeming to have to zoom about between the percussion player and the sound engineer with a concerned look on his face. The result was a show that was the *tiniest* bit less tight than the previous night's, but still good enough that you'd only notice if, as I did, you saw them back to back. Maybe an 8.5 out of ten when the night before was a 9 or a 9.5. Still well worth the money and the trip to London.
Highlights of both shows for me -- "Cottonfields" (Cowsill really should sing more leads, and I wish they'd bring back "Wild Honey" and "Heroes and Villains" for him, or maybe give back "Sail On Sailor" -- while Christian does a fine job on it, and seems to want to be on stage now in a way he didn't between 2008 and 2013, Cowsill's still better), "Til I Die", "I'm Waiting For The Day", "Here Today" (Scott did a *magnificent* job orchestrating these two), "The Warmth of the Sun", the first night's "Disney Girls" (which was the best Bruce has ever sung it), "All This Is That" -- I thought I'd miss Foskett on that one, but I didn't, and the second night particularly I was struck by what a good job Cowsill does on the drums on that one -- it's got that weird pulse to it which must be a real pain to play.
I was also struck by how *consistent* the sound of this band is, given the lineup changes in recent years. It must be a nightmare switching parts around, bringing new people in, and getting them up to speed on such massive setlists. But I suppose that if you've got a drummer as good as Cowsill, a musical director as good as Scott, and a frontman as good as Mike (and whatever else one wants to say about him, he connects with an audience as few others can), then as long as everyone else is a professional it'll always be a good show.

I'd have loved to hear California Sun in Hannover! I guess a greater portion of the German audience would have been familiar with that than with "Good To My Baby" and "Kiss me Baby", which were my emotional highlights.
But most of all I would have loved to hear "Hear Today"... How did Mike pull that off? That's always a highlight of Mike & Bruce's longer shows -- though they actually always split the lead a little, with Bruce taking the "A brand new love affair is such a beautiful thing/But if you're not careful think about the pain it can bring" parts. They carry it off *extremely* well.
Speaking of splitting leads, a few changes to the arrangements I noticed -- Brian E now sings the parts that Brian sang on "Good Vibrations", so he takes "I hear the" and "when I look" while Christian sings the rest of the verse vocal (and "we find" is back in at the end of the second verse). Christian takes a verse of "It's OK" (the one starting "Looking good...") as well as singing the "Find a ride" part. Brian E doubles Mike on the first verse of "Kiss Me Baby", and Scott now sings "Why Do Fools" solo rather than doubling it with the other falsetto singer. That last is a *bit* of a shame -- I love Scott's voice and think he should sing more leads (it's a shame they didn't include "Let Him Run Wild", which he does beautifully) but from just the perspective of admiring the skill involved I used to like it when he and Jeff or Randell would double each other perfectly from opposite sides of the stage, sounding like one voice.

Gonna talk about Brighton here since I'm comparing it to RAH and can't find another UK tour thread anyway
Brighton yesterday was changed - seemingly on the night? - to have no intermission - but they still played 2 hours and 20 minutes anyway - so shorter than Royal Albert Hall, but complaining about a couple of near-80 year olds only being on stage for 160 minutes straight is a bit unfair... In fact they only did four more songs at RAH where they got a 25 minute intermission, so not much different really.
Setlist was a bit more hit-based than the RAH show - out with some of the Pet Sounds numbers (Caroline, No, Here Today, I'm Waiting For The Day, You Still Believe In Me), Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Their Hearts Were Full of Spring, 'Til I Die, Little Honda and Please Let Me Wonder
But they added in You're So Good To Me (Bruce lead), In My Room, 409, Shut Down and Wild Honey (love how heavy Cowsill makes this)
Mike seemed to be enjoying himself and was very talkative. Bruce did another great Disney Girls and also seemed in good spirits
Continue to be amazed by Ike - his Don't Worry Baby and Warmth Of The Sun were so good
Mike mentioned how they filmed the Don't Go Near The Water video in Brighton. Bruce then said it was either a terrific song or a terrible song... couldn't hear it clearer enough to determine which but either is likely!
I enjoy the new Summertime Blues version, and both that and Rockaway Beach go over well live.
Bruce played a single line of I Write The Songs before Disney Girls (with Mike threatening to make him do the whole thing one day)
I noticed Christian sang "blossom world we find" this time on GV.
Two complaints, neither band related - 1) there are always some people sitting near me in the crowds at these shows who seem to object to the whole "people standing up, dancing, clapping, having fun" during the fast songs. Despite Bruce literally doing his "all stand up" gesture at the start of those songs. I'm fine if you don't want to join in but why act all disgusted at everyone who doesn't want to just sit still and silently appreciate Help Me Rhonda.
2) Brighton Centre confiscated my water bottle on entry, but would happily sell me a bottle of water at the bar...

These Reviews from 'across the pond' are great (and making me a bit jealous, lol). Thank you.
Inspired me to check out this great recent video from Paris. Great performance, well received:
