I must admit I had to look him up (I'm a New York guy, not versed in Los Angeles radio). This line caught my eye: "In 1971, MILLER murdered his adulterous wife MARY and wound up serving a stretch in prison for manslaughter."

This blog appears to provide some information about what had happened back in 1971: thjkoc.net/2019/06/04/the-last-word-on-humble-harve/

Measure of Harv’s character and popularity that his friends didn’t turn away from him while he was incarcerated, and that his “good behaviour”, as they call it, stood him in good stead for an early release. I knew nothing of this beforehand; he’s the guy who heard the fabulous H&V demo to me.

If you have my book-I discuss under 1973 that part of the reason the love foundation did some prison benefits was due to his plight

I only have "The Beach Boys in Concert", to me the best book written about the Beach Boys EVER. (That I've read at least, and I've read about 10 or 12.)
