Earlier this month, Chris White of The Zombies hinted that the band may be touring with Brian. Apparently, it's true ! BW/Zombies

Wow, that's pretty cool. Will Darian will pulling double duty?
For a second there, I thought we had a new term for "Brianista"

Wonder whether this might evolve into a tour (UK dates?) and, if so, whether it’ll be as successful as the Jeff Beck project?

I can't tell from the ad. Does this mean that they will be playing together like Brian did with Jeff Beck? A joint set? If so, I hope they get it on film - could be a stunner.
On a different note... Is Brian ever going to get back to making new music, a new album?

Brian's recorded some songs for the new documentary. A soundtrack release could happen (not saying it will, but it's possible). Just speculating.

LPR includes Blondie as per the recent ESQ (subscribe now), which also mentions “he did a beautiful version of Honeycomb”, and that when asked he said he wanted to do covers of Johnny B Goode and I Hear You Knocking; whether he did is unclear.

Yeh...sounds like Brian. He's been saying, "I want to do a ROCK AND ROLL album" for the last 15-20 years. And I say, "Yawwwwwwwwwwwwn" to covers of "Johnny B Goode" and/or "I Hear You Knocking" and/or "Proud Mary" and/or "Honeycomb" or ?? I really mean... "Hey Brian..what's the point?" Haven't these songs been covered enough? And for me, I don't want to hear you doing other people's songs. If he doesn't have any "new" songs in him....then he should just relax, and enjoy life! He's done enough! Dogbone

But what if covering rock and roll standards are Brian's way of relaxing and enjoying life?

Maybe a double album - one disc of oldies covers to ease him into doing a disc of new material? 58 Big Ones?

Brian has been obsessed with that "Shortenin Bread" riff for years. And I'm guessing he'd use it for several of those songs he'd cover.
No thanks. It's below him.

Will I buy it and listen to it extensively for a week and then put it on the shelf never to play it again? Most likely. But it's not likely that a r'n'r covers album will affect my life in any negative way whatsoever, and with that reasoning I will never be actively opposed to him releasing anything. But no, I wouldn't be thoroughly enthustiastic about learning about its release.

We're on the same page for the most part, I think.
