Americans gather on the 4th of July to celebrate their nation's birth and honor its rich history and values. It's a day to feel proud with joy, pride, and grateful of being American and to cherish the freedoms and opportunities of living in the United States. Today, we celebrate the birth of a nation founded on the principles of liberty, equality, and justice for all. Happy Fourth of July!

Damn, the professor is shedding a tear of patriotism in seeing these messages. And we take a minute to salute our brothers and sisters in the UK celebrating the exercise of their franchise as new government seems to be taking shape. Mind you this is not politics just a celebration of our comprehensive freedom. The Beach Boys So Central and important too the celebration. Love to everybody

What do you guys do on 4th of July again?
Is that when you dress up like Pilgrims and re-enact the Battle of Gettysburger?
Or is it when you dig up a football, then play football with it, then grill and eat the football?
Have a great time, and don’t go poppin’ no fireworks in someone’s ass!

King George III is rolling in his grave for the 204th time. Happy Fourth of July to the Beach Boys and all other Americans, from down under.

Saw fireworks down Doheny way at Doheny Doheny State Beach and then I drove home to LA with beach boy playlist and fireworks exploding left and right all up and down that 5 freeway. That's what I call a great Fourth of July

I did something similar -- caught the fireworks show a couple of miles from my house, drove home, and watched some live BBs footage from their July 4th shows era.

Another morpher for the morphed list! Forgot about this one. In honor of the reopening of the Statue of Liberty on July 5, 1986, "Lady Lynda" was reissued with a new title, "Lady Liberty," featuring new lyrics and Al Jardine reciting part of the poem on the Statue's pedestal. After Al and Lynda's divorce, the song was performed in concert as "Little Lady".

I don't think this thread belongs in the General On-Topic section because it has next to nothing to do with the music, other than frequent big BB gigs on that date. How about me doing a parody on this on the German national holiday? You wouldn't want that in this section. But then again, I'm not a moderator here nor do I want to be. And just wait till Project 2025 kicks in...

Personally, being an American, celebrating America’s independence on a board celebrating America’s Band seems like the right thing to do. Politics aside, Americans are proud to celebrate their 248th year of Independence, so leave it out of this thread. Understood Micha? Thank you.

July 4th is when U.S. celebrates its independence, and UK had their big election in 2024.
Nov 5th, the UK celebrates Guy Hawkes day, and the U.S. will elect their next president in 2024.

How about me doing a parody on this on the German national holiday? But.......it does have to do with the music. I tied in the Beach Boys song "Fourth Of July" with my initial post. See what I did there? Not to mention the numerous band celebrations over the years, including the July 4, 1983 Independence Day celebration in Washington DC, where they "attracted the wrong element.” Did you also see the other music tie-in to the Fourth Of July where our other EH moderator (from Australia) appropriately mentioned the Beach Boys song "Lady Liberty"? This was not a parody on our national holiday, Micha. It was serious and it was for real.
