I never much cared for the documentary, in fact it seriously blunted my appreciation of this extraordinary event, but from watching this amateur footage I can well imagine that those first performances of SMiLE were magical. Guess you had to be there... I've since learnt it was a person known to me who rediscovered and uploaded that footage to YouTube. A big hi and a big thankyou to MH (and RH).  |
