- Flashing the maloik (ie. devil horns) too much. Thanks to the late, great Ronnie James Dio, the horns are a part of hard rock and heavy metal culture, and it looks incredibly silly to flash them at a Demi Lovato concert. I get you, especially when it's accompanied with the shuddering of the head (which, in turn, makes me shudder, but in a different way). But I'll take "the horns" over "the bird". I don't know how many times I've seen a publicity photo of some unknown local band where at least one member is flipping off the camera. My first thought is, "Is he/she flipping ME off? What did I do to deserve that? " Now I'm familiar with the famous photo of Johnny Cash flipping the bird and I'll let that one go because....well that was Johnny Cash! I'm not sure what the story was behind that, but I'll bet he had a substantial reason. But when I see a group of unknown punks doing that sort of thing, well it's hard not to get offended.

For a while there, in the late 90s / early 00s, the "bird" started to overtake the "horns" in the heavy metal scene. But, as the 00s went on, it became much more fashionable to embrace the older guard of bands (it didn't hurt that the 00s saw a lot of "return to form" releases from the likes of Maiden, Priest, Dio, et al), so the "horns" outlasted the "bird."

"Absolutely".
I mean, for flip's sake just say YES.
You save yourself three whole syllables, which over the course of a lifetime might very well provide you with an extra six months in which to talk even more bollocks.

I know upthread, someone mentioned their dislike for the response, "I know, right?" I gotta admit, I use that one myself quite a bit, especially in texting.
But one very recent trend I've noticed on TV is where someone is being interviewed and they answer every question starting with "Right! Well..."
Example: Q: What determines the design for a particular birdhouse you are about to build?
A: Right! Well...I start out by taking into account the...…….
I'm thinking "right" is the new "uhhhhh".

Couple more....... “Just sayin!” or "I’m just sayin!" Yep, I heard you. I guess it should make me feel better about the fact that you’ve just offended me or said something that didn’t make sense? Or beginning a sentence with “I mean”. You ask someone a question and they answer with, “I mean, yeah, you know, that’s the way it is”. I don't hear these so much anymore, but they're probably still being used extensively somewhere: “That said”. The copycats went nuts with this one for awhile. "My bad". AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Never said it and never will!

AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Never said it and never will! Yeah, I think those two have pretty much run their course, although I still hear them occasionally. "That said", I believe was a modern day version of "when all's said and done". Another variation was "at the end of the day". They can all disappear, for all I care. "My bad" had to be about the most worthless phrase of all. "Hey, you spilled water on the floor!" "Yeah, I know. My bad". Of course it's your bad, you dunce! You were the one that did it!!!

Maybe it's been mentioned...the comment section in youtube clips. The music clips/vids in particular. Constantly the same stupid overused, generic comments no matter what you watch. Admittedly, most of the stuff I'm watching is not new music but still...they all just parrot each other.
Everyone is...
A genius Underrated Underappreciated Was ahead of their/his/her time. Was the best Was not as good as the Beatles They need to be in the R&R HOF Asking "who is listening to this right now" Writing out the lyrics No auto tune
Lots more but you get the idea.

Hm. Bizarre to see nobody "liked" the reply I'd written at Trophy topic. Given many people like away just about every post they agree with at daily basis (as in rampant liking), figured they'd like mine since I, eh, sided with 95% posters against playing gig & against animal-killing guys. But...looks like to many here it matters WHO the reply is written by than WHAT'S written. EH should be about equality, no? Friendly board that likes & respects everybody, including this Beach Boys Fan. Right?

Here, have a like right now!

I like to be acknowledged. I agreed with nearly everybody yet STRANGELY nobody even liked it at Trophy topic. Doesn't make ANY sense. I'm useful to this board too, I created many threads in General Discussion & elsewhere. AND - don't you see smiley in previous post? I stated it in nice cheerful way OBVIOUSLY - ya know, reason why people use smileys... The answer is obvious. We're all terribly jealous of your insightful comments and superb writing style. As Randy Newman once sang, it's lonely at the top.

Thanks pendlewitch for the like. Appreciate it. But, since you didn't get which fence side I sided with, I'll explain again - I stated black & white that trophy guys should mind their business, they must stop killing big animals (lions etc) due to these animals killing rare bird & whoever breeds. Animals EAT TO LIVE. How is it possible to kill these beautiful living breathing creatures if what they do is kill rare birds etc to EAT? What, they should starve? They've ZERO idea when they, big animals, kill birdies etc that they kill rare breeds/species. See? I'm against trophy guys like many. I said let the big animals kill rare breeds etc. I sided & side with big animals (lions tigers etc). Now you see? I reckon I gave good explanation. 2dickrising - Wha'? I like to be acknowledged. I agreed with nearly everybody yet STRANGELY nobody even liked it at Trophy topic. Doesn't make ANY sense. I'm useful to this board too, I created many threads in General Discussion & elsewhere. AND - don't you see smiley in previous post? I stated it in nice cheerful way OBVIOUSLY - ya know, reason why people use smileys... &, I'd written great point there at Trophy thread that people disagreeing with majority regarding M&B playing at trophy gig should voice their views but NOT ridicule the many who'd been against it. I see few people in that thread dared to ridicule "Hey it's just gig" hinting it's too weird to be against it. How about respecting people's views? Instead you must say "I respect that you're against it & that you're disgusted by M&B for playing gig. I respect it A LOT. But, we'll agree to disagree". That's HOW it must be handled. But what do we see? Ridicules "Hey it's paid gig", "Why care?" etc. It's great point I'd written, thus. Praising oneself is very bad form. Trump does it a lot.
