This description of Blondie from the sleeve notes for a comp called The New Models, Vol 1, branded "A Rare Collection of Greatest Hits Before The Fact, from ‘Elektra/Asylum Records 1977". The album features a couple of tracks from his first solo album::
The Blondie
"Sometimes called, THE CHAPLIN. THE BLONDIE was created in South Africa and further developed in England and America. It first came to prominence while driven by The Beach Boys. Fans siill (sic) remember the early BLONDIE valves full-blown on "Sail On Sailor" and other fine tunes. The current BLONDIE is self-contained, stripped of chrome, big inside, and out-runs anything on the road. BLONDIES are now produced for mass appeal. A hot rod in every garage." THE BLONDIE. "Bye Bye Baby:' "Woman Don't Cry:'
Perhaps it lost something in the translation… if it was translated.

I like The Gold. Saw a couple of those concerts during his days with Linda. He was in her band and on her records from 1973 -'77. Her right-hand man on Heart Like A Wheel, including arrangements. He played almost all the instruments on her #1 Hit, "You're No Good". He was everything but a drummer, a one-man band. In 1975 Andrew played almost all the instruments on Garfunkel's Hit, "I Only Have Eyes for You". He played guitar on "She Did It"! And who can forget his own, "Thank You for Being A Friend"? That later became the theme song for The Golden Girls. In 1981 he helped 10cc create Ten Out of 10 and was offered a spot in the group. When 10cc broke up in 1983, Gold and Gouldman formed Wax. They stayed together into the 1990s, four albums. I could go on; cause Gold also had a solo career. As a solo artist he had loads of fans and records. He died too young in 2011 at 59. A Great career!
jk, where is the photo of The Blondie? Show us the other side of the gatefold. You own this? I don't even recognize those tracks by The Booker T.

Hey hold on Will, it's John Manning you should be shouting at, not me! It was he who posted the THE BLONDIE. And no, I don't own it!! (Give me strength...) And here are your two THE BOOKER T tracks, neither particularly memorable: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Language_(Booker_T._%26_the_M.G.%27s_album)

John, you posted the photo of the gatefold. Is it something you found cruzin' the net? I'll go look, then... birds chirpin'... nope, I can't find the record cover. Booker T, post Stax, wonderin' what to do next. How is that Greatest Hits Before The Fact? Before the fact of what?

Well I was trying to make sense of it all. I shouldn't have bothered. Haha. I suspect they're talking bollocks. They seem rather good at it.

Unfortunately I don't have that promotional album. But the drawings from the foldout sleeve triggered me, as I recognized the style of this promotional item I have in my collection. I always wondered where to link it to. But obviously it's from the same era as the album.
