I’m really interested in a lot of the back catalogue, I’d understand if newer issues were kept print only but if they ever decided to offer pdfs of some of the older editions, I would definitely be interested in that.

That's fine, as long as they don't go to digital only.

We have been looking into a digital option for quite some time; we just have not found a service yet that meets all our requirements - ability for paid subscribers to view on any of their devices anywhere / anytime; reasonably priced for the publisher; and secure / not sharable distribution. As far as the latter goes, we are rightfully protective of our intellectual property -- we recently found where someone had scanned and uploaded a number of issues of ESQ (some still in-print) to a file sharing site without our permission, so we had to flag it for copyright violation and request that the site owner take them down.

Lee Good hunting to you and David, Lee! I'd love the ability to read some well now out of print back issues, or to glue together (via a favourites type list) Craig et al's fine work in a way beneficial to all. Hopefully a win/win is looming beyond the tech horizon.
