Very sad...so glad I got to see him, once, just before the pandemic. Tony was spectacular. Knew every word, phrasing, dressed to the nines, and glided through the performance. You would never know he had Alzheimer's. RIP 🙏🏻❤️

One of the true greats of Music of all time. How many artists can you count on one hand that have even had anything of the career he has had? Many great records, a lovely Gentleman, a huge loss. What a man.

My favorite story is that on the way to the Tony Bennett concert in 2013, my wife and I ate at an Italian restaurant which was on the same street as the concert venue, in Saratoga, CA. The waitress was the daughter of the restaurant’s owner, who was Italian. We were so excited we told the waitress we were on our way to the Tony Bennett concert. She said “Who is Tony Bennett?” My wife explained that he was one of the most legendary jazz and popular singers of all time, similar to Frank Sinatra. She replied “Who’s Frank Sinatra?”

Well, even though JM's thread has made its way across here, there is of course a rather glaring BB (or rather BW) connection, in the shape of this flawless classic (Mr B at the top of his game)... ...which Brian then gave the blissed-out treatment, as can be heard here at 0:27: Rest in peace, Mr Bennett. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Wanna_Be_Around

Saw him years ago and wore a suit out of respect for the first and only time at a concert.
