Is it just me? But these 'shorts' seem to be clogging up a lot of quality YouTube content and it's peeving me off! Who wants to waste their time watching 30 second video's? Arrhhh!!! It doesn't help, when the clips are just utter garbage to boot.

YouTube seems to be emulating TikTok, which is all short stuff, I believe (I've never visited it). Not a good development.

It's particularly annoying when you go to select the 'newly uploaded' videos on a subject, and the first quarter of a page is all 'shorts' before the normal videos appear. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn those off either. It's even worse, when so many of those 'shorts' are just trash and time wasting to scroll past them. Youtube is ruining a good thing.

YouTube shorts are even more annoying than Bruce's shorts!

Unfortunately the "Shorts" are here to stay. They tend to gain traffic and views much easier than traditional videos. I could be mistaken but I believe YouTube has even incorporated them into the algorithm to be up front and present for a channel to gain traction. The same concept has infected Facebook and especially Instagram with their Reels. As someone who dabbles in photography, I'm not a fan of having to make videos just to get people to notice my pictures.
