I know of just one example of David laughing during a song on a studio album (maybe there are more). It's in "Anything At All", arguably the highlight of CSN (1977) featuring the original trio configuration with Stills and Nash. It happens after the word "Surprise!" just past the two-minute mark: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSN_(album)

Two nights ago the official Dutch "classical" radio station played "Orleans" from David's 1971 solo album. Apparently it's just him on this track. The same holds for the album closer, "I'd Swear There Was Somebody Here", which took him all of 15 minutes to multi-track, according to DC in an interview...

Saw CSN several times in the 80s and CSNY once. When he was on, baby he was on. When he was off, it was difficult to see. Still, my fave track by any CSNY configuration will always be Almost cut my hair. Delicious.

I haven’t cut my hair since Jan 2020 due to COVID, and because my wife never liked our hairdresser, and can’t be bothered to find a new one. I think about that song a lot now.

CSN did a mostly acoustic show back in the early 90's(?) featuring just the three of them without an accompanying band and it honestly might be one of their finest moments. Especially for a newly rejuvenated Crosby who had overcame his drug and legal issues and was sounding better than ever. Most of the performance was put out on DVD years ago and is well worth pursuing especially for the Crosby stuff as he sounded amazing on songs like "Deja Vu" and "Long Time Gone". I think the performance of "Almost Cut My Hair" I shared earlier in this thread was actually culled from that show but for some inexplicable reason was omitted from the DVD. Definitely worth seeking out this show though.
