Is there no Thanksgiving thread today as there is traditionally. I know our mates from across the pond may not participate as strenuously as we yanks do in the event but in any case I think all such days are worth marking and expressing gratitude for a community of compassionate humanist Scholars who share information so generously.
so I express my thanks to those of you who contribute with kindness and thoughtfulness and share the legacy of the great Beach boys.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to one and all. Thankful for good food and fun football games today, and good music to come soon from The Beach Boys and Neil. Next week begins the hunt for a fresh tree and all that December brings. I just love this time of the year. And snow. I love snow. We had a small snow last week. Hoping for a snowy winter.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves on Thursday (in NL we just get Black Friday, the money-spinning component). While I was away, it struck me that that most American of composers Charles Ives had written a piece about Thanksgiving, actually the last movement of a symphony: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Symphony:_New_England_Holidays
