There are country legends, there are Country Legends... and then there's Loretta Lynn, who died earlier today aged 90. She wasn't known as The Queen Of Country without a very good reason. She really was a coal miner's daughter.

Good heavens, response to the death of Loretta Lynn seems a bit slight. RIP to the Queen of Country Music.
I've never owned any of her albums. Any tips on where to start?

I'd say eight sympathizers in this corner of the forum is pretty good going! And not everyone is a country fan *cough*. At least she reached a good age. All I really know about her is that Levon Helm of The Band played her father in the biographical film Coal Miner's Daughter (1980):
