My copy, as Amazon has just notified me, has been 'lost in the mail'.... hmmmm. Absolutely spewing! They say they have more on order but that don't mean more will be arriving. If anyone can help me locate and score a CD copy of this, please let me know. Thanks.

Same thing apparently happened to the copy I ordered with Amazon: lost. Ugh. At least they processed the refund quickly.

Long Promised Road was broadcast on PBS this past Sunday night. Was fun watching it again. Brian really teared up and became emotional when the subject of Carl and Jack Reiley came up. I know Brian and Reiley wrote about 10 songs together and he was their manager for a couple of years, but didn't know Brian and Jack were that close. I guess it would be like Asher or Parks passing away; the memories are still vivid on a personal level.

Brian’s vocal on The Night Was So Young is really nice. Love that song.

See, that concerned me, as when Jack passed back in 2015, there was a message allegedly from Brian posted on his FB page saying how sad he was at Jack's passing.

Well, he was taken aback with the news, he asked Fine to confirm what he'd told him, he was quiet for a few seconds, then his voice quivered a little and genuine tears welled up. So it seemed real and not a put-on; maybe he'd just totally forgotten or it just hit him. Now the Dennis segment with Fine playing the 'Pacific Ocean Blue' album at his house may have been a put-on OR Brian wanted to see Dennis' legacy/album being honored at the same time he was, OR he'd just genuinely forgotten. Because wasn't it Brian himself who said that he'd heard Dennis' album before and liked it? Hell, Dennis was working on POB at the same studio at the same time as 15 Big Ones and Love You were being recorded - how could he not have heard at least some of it? Maybe he was just giving Dennis equal time or he'd genuinely forgotten what it sounded like and hasn't played it himself since it was released.

So the question becomes "Did Brian forget that Jack had passed?" I think so. What was filmed was legit.

Not saying it wasn't: my concern was that Brian had forgotten three years later.

It was one of those moments where it was too good to be true to get the 'last' copy!..... However, they prolonged it, and even sent me tracking information a couple weeks into the order, I wonder how much of that is also pre-generated and not factual now.... They certainly made it as if it were in the mail and on it's way. As another said, I also got a quick refund, no worries there, but still.....

They didn’t have to take “long promised” literally, did they?

Nah, I thought Jay was asking about the original version and wasn't even thinking about the LPR version.

Just to clarify I was talking about the LPR version (although I love the original too). Brian’s vocal although a little slurred is strong, heartfelt, and he sounds good in that higher register in the chorus.
