Is that the one where Meat's in a studio playing back the multitrack of "Bat Out Of Hell" (the song) and then on the fade suddenly stops talking, listens then goes:
"Wait... what's this ? (pushes fader up to reveal female vocal line) No-one's ever heard that before. You know why ? Because it sucks !!"
I spat my tea everywhere.
Haha! Yeap, that's the one.
Steinman sits at the piano and also talks about how he wrote 'two out of three' like a cowboy song...
We get to hear Todd Rundgren's input into producing the record and making motorbike sounds from just his guitar...
The interesting story between the two women who 'share' Bat Out of Hell, one who did the recording and who became
the person that performed it live, and shows a bit of animosity between the two women...
There's a few lines where Meat takes out all of the instrumentation and he is there singing along with himself,
to when he exclaims! 'I sound exactly the same as I did back then'.
In hindsight, it's hard to imagine that they recorded the record, then tried to shop it around and not one label would touch it,
so it sat in the can for the better part of two years when Todd took it and released it on his own and very small label.
Very entertaining to watch.
It was a massive record here in Australia, and the first place it reached #1 in the world.
Australia loves their Meat for better or worse.
It's one of the better 'Classic Album' series documentaries they made.
As far as I understand, not all of them made it to DVD, and some episodes were not even broadcast in some Countries
due to the rights/copyright of the material.
