Two mellow albums from 1968 and 1969, with the other members of the band joining Brian Wilson as songwriters and producers, especially Dennis Wilson. Some tough choices here, due to the pairings - with Dennis's three great new songs going up against Brian's three most wonderful, if sporadic, songs during this period.

Do it Again is a fair fight. Can’t we leave out the prelude stuff such as Meant for You, Our Prayer or Think About The Days? Could you put either of those tracks on the radio to stand alone, or do they just ease-your-way into the LP? With my teacher hat on - it seems to skew the testing instrument. Maybe exclude it and do a separate prelude type or instrumental competition? |

I see your point about “Meant for you,” being only 38 seconds (although I think they should have released the full version from Made in California). They did list it as a separate track, though. Tell you what, I’ll do an alternate poll later today or tomorrow, and pit “Meant for You” against “Our Prayer,” and we’ll see what happens. All the songs will then be compared to different songs. |
