The Beach Boys expand from the surfing and hotrod songs of their first albums to include more general teenage themes in these two classic 1964 LPs. Shut Down Vol. 2 has a lot of great songs, but seems to peter out with filler at the end. Each of the albums contain a "song" consisting of session talk, and it would have been nice to compare these two to each other - but that would have thrown all the rest of the comparisons off. I'm sticking to the order of the songs as they appeared on the albums, and in these two cases, I'm willing to bet that the session talk "songs" won't win in either case - thus balancing the albums out with each other.

I must say, this one was a little 'tricky'. I mean, FFF or IGA?
Damn!

I left many pairs unanswered and gave a few "losers" a boost. This is more entertaining than I originally envisaged.

I am surprised that "I Get Around" won over "Fun Fun Fun" by such a considerable margin. "Fun Fun Fun" has to be one of my all time favorite Beach Boys Songs, and is usually the encore to end a great concert, along with "Barbara Anne."
