Do songs in other languages count?Several months ago, I heard a song by some Spanish band that mentioned the Beach Boys. I thought "I have to post about it on EH" and I was even translating the song into English as I was listening to it, but I was busy at the time and then I completely forgot about it. Now I'm trying to remember the name of the artist or the song but nothing comes to my mind. It's impossible to google it and it doesn't show up in Spotify history. It's frustrating I hope I'll listen to it again some day. I'll keep you posted They certainly do! (Hi, Silken. ) Do you remember any of the words? Even a short string and "Beach Boys" might get you there... If not, let's hope Spotify plays it again some time. Yes, these things are frustrating!

How about these for lyrics mentioning our Boys?! "Behind a desk of shit Some phony plants try their thing 'All the weapons are great', I hear the Beach Boys sing" [ Source] They come from "Guitar Born In America", a song by one Michel Montecrossa that seems to have been recorded (although it can't be heard anywhere). According to this page it's on Supergang Disc #4 -- unless someone's having a giraffe. Ha! I see now it's already on my list.

Silken , I did some detective work (which I *love* doing!) and found some songs in Spanish about "los Beach Boys", in two cases singular. Maybe, just maybe one of these is the one you want. The first three are unambiguously about the Boys so they're going on my list! unoduotrescuatrocinco

And here is the first of those three: "Sho-Hai comes from Spain and was born in 1976. The band members are Violadores del Verso and Bufank. His musical style is mainly considered hip-hop, Spanish hip-hop, trap Latino and deep Latin hip-hop." [ Source] This is "Oceano", with the BB mention at around the four-minute mark: "Surfeo un tsunami, de aguas turbias, en bermudas, con los Beach Boys de fondo, así afronto mi mar de dudas" ["I surf a tsunami, of muddy waters, in bermudas, with the Beach Boys in the background, This is how I face my sea of doubts"]

This is number two: "Antonio Arco Puerto (Loja, Granada, April 27, 1976), stage name Arco, is a Spanish singer, guitarist, composer, writer and lyricist, previously known for having joined the Granada band El Puchero del Hortelano until the end of 2015. At the beginning of 2016 he began his solo career as Arco." [ Source] This is "Estampado Floral", with the mention occuring just before 1:20: "Si han vuelto Los Enemigos The Police o The Beach Boys Si volvieron sin marcharse La Bersuit y Leonard Cohen" ["If Los Enemigos * have returned The Police or The Beach Boys If they came back without leaving La Bersuit ** and Leonard Cohen"] * Spanish rock band los Enemigos got involved in the local scene in the mid-'80s, recording their first album after coming in first place at Villa de Madrid's rock contest. That first record, called Ferpectamente, was followed by 1988's Un Tío Cabal. Led by singer/guitarist Josele Santiago, los Enemigos became one of the most popular local numbers during the '90s. To celebrate their 15th anniversary, the band performed five shows in Madrid, Valencia, Granada, and Santiago de Compostela, making a double live album called Obras Escocidas, 1985-2000, produced by Carlos Matos and released by Chewaka Records on February 19, 2001. And now the last of the three -- quite a find for one evening! "Algunos Hombres Buenos (A Few Good Men) is a contemporary rock band of Spanish origin, known for the quality of its music and the hooks in its songs." [ Source] This is "Canciones". The namecheck comes just after the two-minute mark: "Te acuerdas no había tregua entre gato y ratón Y aquel verano playero con los Beach Boys Aún corren por mis venas litros de alcohol Una Mari Magdalena, un Evaristo y mucho Rock and Roll" ["Do you remember there was no truce between cat and mouse And that beach summer with the Beach Boys Litres of alcohol still run through my veins A Mari Magdalena, an Evaristo and a lot of Rock and Roll"]

Unfortunately, any of these is the song I heard (I think *my* song has the word "eden" in the title...) Thanks anyway!! PS: "two" is actually "dos" ("dúo" means "duo" or "duet")

"Duo" was just carelessness on my part. I'll see if "eden" does the trick -- maybe tonight.

While looking for Silken 's song (in vain so far) I found a new one for my list! Champagne’s "The Van" has some fairly indecipherable lyrics that mention Pet Sounds (after 0:35) followed by a line that sounds to me like "I sing a Beach Boys song [and] enjoy my day". So it qualifies!

Silken, I've followed every possible lead, including all the lyrics by someone called Eden Muñoz! I give up -- unless you have other information that may help me to identify it.

So did I, but I only got lyrics of Beach Boys songs I'm still looking and I'll let you know if I remember anything else that helps me identify the song. Either I was lucky, or I added some other ingredient that I can't remember. I may have juggled with various Spanish phrases obtained from Google Translate. Anyway, this was the site where I found those five songs: www.letra.guru/el-beach-boy-letraMaybe it's of some help in jogging your memory...

Well, this must be the (ahem!) most explicit Beach Boys mention yet! I found it at the site linked above. It comes from the hour-long (!) rap "Freaky Tales" by Insane Clown Posse, one of my favourite group names. The lyrics are not for the faint of heart, so I won't link the track here: "Ninth grade teacher, Ms. Malane I met her years later after I got paid She took me home, overnight I stayed We ****ed all night as the Beach Boys played"
