These sort of shows are the way to go now for these old timers. More intimate and personal approaches, telling stories, playing a few songs. I love that format when an artist presents a show this way. I'd love to see Al in this setting, some of his YouTube video's are quite entertaining. It's good seeing artists play around with different material, different instruments, having some guests....
I mean, who doesn't wanna see Al pull out the double Bass? Right?

Al does a very nice show complete with some interesting little back stories.

I attended a couple of Al's shows in 2018 and 2019 in Maryland. They were very fun, and it was impressive how well some of the songs, even Good Vibrations and Surf's Up, were done with a three man band.
Plus, since the shows were intimate, Al and Matt came out to meet the fans afterward.

I like Al’s singing a lot, and I missed him once he was no longer with Mike’s Beach Boys. I was glad when he toured with Brian. But I’ve never seen him solo.

Would love to have Al play the U.K. maybe in Stainforth village hall or Ingleton community centre (both of which were overlooked on the 2012 reunion tour).

Would love to have Al play the U.K. maybe in Stainforth village hall or Ingleton community centre (both of which were overlooked on the 2012 reunion tour). Seconded, ideally at the Marston Arms, Frome, so I can stop in at Sainsbury's for a pre-gig gin-in-a-tin on the way. Thanks, Brother Al! I totally agree on more intimate shows for old timers. I tend to pick and choose my gig going to avoid duplication, over exposure etc, so seem to be forever declining invitations to go see McCartney + band again or Brian + band again etc. But either of those two sat at a piano and a microphone on their own telling stories, playing a few tunes and/or being weird old dinosaurs for two hours I'd gladly rob my son's piggy bank for.

AZ, and then CA? He's heading the wrong way! I've seen Brian and Mike once each, in the UK and NL respectively... Now Alan is an interesting proposition, not least because of the different format, as mentioned earlier. I hope he has fond memories of his stay among the tulips in Bloemendaal...

The professor just bought his ticket for March 19th Saturday and San Juan Capistrano to see al Jardine show.
That's having faith in God that all will be well with the world in six months and the show will go on and just fun to pick up a ticket and think about lining up to see this great show which I seen before.

I drove it down there today to line up to get a good seat, and they told me I was a little early and should return in the spring. And I said well how will I know when it's time to return?

I'd love to see one of Al's shows. The clips I've seen from them are great. I doubt he'll make his way to Maine though!

Well as the Cincinnati Kid and custom machine will testify it's an incredible show. I was there in the front row and the intimacy with the music and the history is so incredible. We talk so much about many things here as a abstraction just on the internet but to actually be in the physical presence of the music and a member of The Beach Boys playing the songs and singing along with the audience and telling the story is an amazing experience. Al is very humble and very folksy there is a spellbinding quality to all this and you find yourself absolutely absorbed by everything going on. At one point or another he mentions all the other Beach Boys I think and you feel their presence as well.

Al is definitely a great person, and he does have a unique charisma about him. I really enjoyed watching him with Brian when I had the chance to catch a Pet Sounds show tour a few years ago. Gonna spend some time tonight watching and listening to Al!

Yes and don't expect total Perfection but that's part of the charm as I think has been discussed before. I remember in in my room he sort of looked up at the ceiling and try to remember what the next cord is and kind of didn't get it right but recovered quickly, and said to himself ohyeah that's where it goes.
I don't know the full history of the recording of in my room but I think it's David and Carl on guitar but Al singing and not playing guitar? Sometimes if you weren't on the original recording then you don't necessarily remember the part that you learned afterward.

Just received an announcement of an upcoming Al show (with Carnie, Wendy & Matt) at the Keswick Theater in Glenside, Pennsylvania on March 3rd. Tickets not available as yet.
I’m hoping this happens, but the Keswick is a fairly large theater (1,300 seats), and not a more cozy club that would be easier to fill, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for that. Oddly, while the listing calls it "Al Jardine Family Affair", the accompanying pic (and the bio) says "Family & Friends tour". Whatever, I'd like to see this.

Al Jardine Family & Friends Tour 2022. Ooooh! I just wanna rename them as something like, 'Al Jardine (NOT Beach Boys) Family and Friends'. We must be due for a fresh lawsuit among the camps.

Cool to hear Ed Carter, Bobby Figueroa will be joining Al for the shows. A couple of ol' Beach Boy legendary touring dinosaurs right there! Also joining is Probyn Gregory from Brian's band and Debbie Shair...... Who is Debbie Shair? Anybody? Should be a neat little show Al and the gang put on. He should seriously make a DVD and make it available via his website.
