To start with this Wikipedia link (a bit off topic, sorry).
If anyone wonders who the guy is that is pictured... it's definitely not Jack Rieley. In fact it's a picture of Dutch DJ Lex Harding, during Bruce Johnston's visit to the Dutch Veronica Studio on December 15th 1970. Here's the complete picture. If there's anyone that can edit this on that Wiki-page, be my guest

I found several articles and reviews on the Western Justice album. Opinions vary widely... I haven't had much time to translate most of them, but there's a few I'd like to share. Het Vrije Volk, 08/03/1975 ‘Rock-book’ on the demise of the west[ern world] Author: Frank van Dijk

Hell fire that was a good read! Lasted me a three mile road walk (and I haven’t fallen on my face) and now I’m going gone to dig out the album and give another – proper, this time – listen. Many thanks Smile Holland!

Klaas, the Beach Boys community is in your debt. Fantastic work! I know for a fact that translating is no picnic...

The opening track America is a masterpiece. Some very Brianesque chord progressions. An enjoyable listen.

The final song of this album happens to be my favorite. So this was a pleasant surprise! Thanks for that!
Try to imagine Jack and Machiel had actually succeeded in doing this live. There were plans in 1975, but I assume the lack of commercial success (not surprising, as it was only released in The Netherlands and Portugal(!)) prevented that from happening.

You've whetted my appetite, Klaas. I'm sure I've heard the album before (years ago) but now it's lined up for late night/early morning listening (after I've finished Q65's Revolution). Odd that that one reviewer (Frank van Dijk) claimed the music was vervelend (annoying)!

O there might be a few less interesting tracks (I don't particularly like Frogs, which imo doesn't fit in the line-up of songs). But overall I really like it.

Gosh. It's quite overwhelming at times. I agree that "Frogs" is a little strange but the album's highs (and there are plenty of them) more than make up for it. What an extraordinary album. Everyone with an interest in the Boys' world should give Western Justice a listen.

One of my most cherished pieces of complete misinformation came when I read, during an otherwise reasonable piece, that Jack had recorded a solo album in Holland using the equipment left behind by The Beach Boys when they returned to LA.

That may be the single worst photo of Jack I've ever seen... BTW, I used to have a copy of that promo single: it's an interview with Jack conducted almost entirely in Dutch.
