The handwriting looks very similar to Brian's on the God Only Knows lyrics he and Tony signed shown in Petsite's post a few days ago (and other examples of his more recent signature that are around).
Do you know the contect of the autograph and message?

Oh I get ya. So the seller has created this item - the picture with the autograph, framing it etc. I'd be interested to know who the original message was for.

There is actually a fascinating post on the other board that’s similar to this one. The difference is that in that post, they suggested the problems, the really deep rooted problems, go all the way back to the Lei’d in Hawaii era. smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,27692.0.html you might have to copy and paste the link, proboards is acting weird today

My two cents John. The outfit that authenticated the Brian signature seems legit to me. MOST authentication companies are full of s—t. A certificate of authenticity means nothing whatsoever. If the person is living and you admire him or her best to get one in person. Well over 50% of any autographs you see for sale on eBay or any site for that matter are 100% fake. Am I an expert on forgeries one might ask..... no, but I worked in the art business for a long time and we did appraisals and autographs would crossover,...we didn’t appraise autographs but I did a lot of research as a result out of curiosity as much as anything and I’d hesitate greatly to ever buy an autograph from anyone I did not know personally or where there was not significant provenance of the item being sold. A customer of mine that collected rock and roll stars autographs on records once gave me a signed beach boys album.... I smiled and pretended to be thrilled ...then threw it in the trash. It was that obvious to me. Whether he knew he was buying bogus stuff online or not I don’t know.

You could 100% make a case for the BBs problems starting around that time but that is true almost anything-like a divorce usually isn’t about one thing but instead many little things that gradually built up. I think also that because the BBs were family, people want to imagine that the BBs were all super close and hung out together all the time. Actually the Beatles were a lot tighter in the mid sixties than the BBs. As early as 1966 Mike tended to do his own thing on the road (he often hung out far more with road manager dick duryea than the Wilsons). And all the people I’ve talked to say that once Al got married in 1964 all his spare time was spent with Lynda, same with Carl and Annie. What I am saying is that the Beatles shared many interests at first and up till 1968 were constantly hanging out. The BBs was always more of a business relationship-a family business but business nonetheless

Ian, just wanted to say thanks for all the insightful responses you've given in this thread so far.
Here's another one you might know the answer to: Did the Stan Love-Rocky Pamplin Dennis Super Bowl Beatdown™ occur during Super Bowl XIV (January 20, 1980) or XV (January 25, 1981)?
Steve Gaines doesn't specify the date, but my money's on XV (Raiders vs. Eagles) because I think Dennis would have still been at Christine's the year prior. Apparently there were some newspaper articles related to the fracas, so I figured maybe you've come across one in your research that could possibly corroborate the date. Cheers.

I’m not looking at my notes but I think it was 1982 Ahh, okay, fascinating. I hadn't considered that it occurred that late in Dennis's life.

Seems to be some disgreement between 1981 and 1982. The case Dennis brought was heard in Santa Monica Supreme Court March 19th, which could be either year.

It doesn't think a URL can contain a comma, which, to be fair, is a decent assumption since the vast majority of URLs do not contain any.

Whoops, if you couldn't get into the links I've been providing to the SS board for a month, or it took longer, my apologies! I didn't know about the comma thing.
