True, the app can be a godsend, but sometimes not all is as appears. I've just been having a CSN binge, and looked up the 2006 Crosby Voyage 3CD box. Except now it's simply called The David Crosby Box (who said poetry was dead ?) and it's 45 tracks instead of 52 (and four of those are greyed out, so effectively it's a 41 track set). MIA are the three Byrds tracks, five Crosby/Nash cuts, a couple of Cros solo and an Airplane song. Thankfully, I have the physical box, but even so...

Yeah, the track grey outs happen a bit, must be strange rights sharing involved; I see it a lot on Indie type tracks.
I’m a Tidal subscriber and the same things happen there.
My initial thoughts re the Spot and Tidal were yippee, bye bye CD collection, now that I don’t have to spend ages ripping you and metres storing you, but this random occurence of tracks fading to grey renders the promise of a brave new world somewhat dubious.
And no, I’m not a Taylor Swift fan.

I don’t trust any form of digital streaming or downloading. I’ve bought sets in the past, downloaded them to my HD only to have some of the the tracks disappear.
Physical every time.
That said, I bought the recent Al Jardine cd single and that arrived in poor state (first time that’s ever happened with any CD I’ve bought via post). At least the CD plays…

Ya, it’s annoying. But still, $10 a month for all the music you could ever want, where ever you want, or $10-15 per CD, $30+ per vinyl, $50+ per box set, and all the money it costs to store all of that stuff, plus having the added annoyance of a separate device to play all of that music, plus all of the plastic that’s going into the environment? I know what I’m choosing.

Good points, though don't forget the environmental impact of the data centers that are required to support all that streaming.
