The Wikipedia entry for "Your Imagination" has the following quote, but doesn't have a citation:
"An alternate version of "Your Imagination" with slightly different lyrics and Steve Dahl singing lead was occasionally played in the late 1990s on Dahl's Chicago-based radio shows on WLUP-FM and WCKG. "
Has anyone heard this alternate version, or know if it really exists?

Does anyone know if Our Prayer (Freeform reform) by Freeform Five was released digitally? I made a digital copy by ripping it from the record, but want a clean version without any pops, so wondering if a digital version is available anywhere.

How about this? Twenty Years in the Can (1998) contains a track called "Note To Myself Machine/Your Imagination". It's Track 82 here at Last.fm and Disk 4 Track 17 here at AllMusic. I don't subscribe to either websites so I can't hear it but the title looks promising!

The AllMusic wants you to use Amazon to listen, I tried that, but it isn't available there.

On top of my head: it was also released on a limited Nonesuch-CD or CDR for promotional use only. Renamed "Brian Wilson - Our Prayer (Remix 3'27)"

OK, here's a minor question that's been bugging me for years that'll probably never be answered because the answer is lost to history and faded memories...but let's admit it: we all want to know...
In the opening of "California," why on earth did they decide to do multipart harmony on just the word "spend"??

Since Brian improvised the part in a single take on the spot, he didn't have a word there. They filled the gap after.

"On my way to sunny California, on my way to" placeholder "another sunny day".
I dunno if I'm that convinced by Al's explanation - "spend" seems a pretty natural fit in context; not to say that other words or phrases wouldn't apply; eg "see", "have", "experience", "cope with","completely dodge by sleeping all day" etc

By all accounts, Brian came up with the part quite literally as the tape rolled and didn't record another take.
