If they were going to try to fit a Beach Boy song to each letter, in my mind it'd be better if they had tried to match the lyrics, or something musical, about a Beach Boy song to the words the starting letter suggests. That way you wouldn't have to leave some letters blank. The blank ones could easily be filled in by something like this...
Q = Question -- why not "I Know There's an Answer"
U = Ukelele -- why not "If I Only Had a Little Pad in Hawaii" (played with a ukelele)
X = Xylophone -- why not "Wind Chimes" (SMiLE version) or "Holidays" (played on xylophone or marimba)
Z = Zoo -- why not "Beaks of Eagles," or "I Went to Sleep" (Zzzzzzz's) -- or even "Cuckoo Bird"

Also, David, that must have taken a lot of stamina to listen to all those songs just for that little book!
I could see a short snippet of a song with each page, and keeping with my theme of lyrics and music fitting the words, I'd do something like...
A = Avocado -- "Little bird up in a tree look down and sang a song for of how it began, Na-na-na-na..., A tree in my own backyard stands all alone, there's fruit for me and it tastes so good, Na-na-na-na..."
B = Burger -- "Well she got her daddy's car and she cruised to the hamburger stand now, seems she forgot all about the library like she told her old man now, and with the radio blasting goes cruising just as fast as she can now, and we'll have fun, fun, fun till her daddy takes her T-bird away."
If it was a 'smart' book with a memory chip and speaker in it, and every time you turned the page these short snippets played I could see 'reading' it with a young one and neither of us getting bored.

Alas I will never fully understand the point of products like this or whom they're even intended for, but if it keeps the Beach Boys remaining relevant in today's pop culture zeitgeist then so be it.
