Just posted on Blondie’s Facebook page. Haven’t listened yet but am bloody delighted at this news:
📣 Back in June 2021, Blondie was in Austin, TX lending his masterful vocals to the songs of Andrew Morse. Musicians such as Darryl Jones, Charlie Sexton, Stephen Barber, Charley Drayton & the dearly missed Ian McLagan also contributed to Andrew’s project which has now been officially released as “The Tasty Kings with Blondie Chaplin”!!!
Blondie says, “Andrew thought my voice would ring good on the songs. It was something I needed to do instead of going crazy during the Pandemic, struggling to stay in the light.”
Look for this new release NOW on YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, iHeartMusic. Check out track 2, with Blondie’s beautiful lead vocals, “Maybe I’m A Queen” on YouTube:
Hoping for a physical release!

That's stunning! Blondie is in fine voice, to be sure. I'm giving the rest a listen now... I've been looking around for more information about TKK and Andrew Morse but not finding very much at all. Has anything else come your way, J?

(scroll down to Etymology 2, Verbs, Usage Notes here: en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/root)I just knew some 14-yo Aussie would react for that word!!!! It’s “root” as in rummage/search rather than “root” as in Australian word for carnal activities. Cold showers, everyone! Anyone listened to the album yet? Am loving it so far.

His song "Maybe I'm A Queen" is wonderful entertainment. He is in prime voice for this song; with outstanding delivery that "sold the song" as they say! Also, excellent backing both in recording and playing. Looking forward to hearing the entire album. ~ Stephen W. Desper

Desper Slightly off-topic, but is anyone in this thread familiar with the album Blondie produced for David Johansen in 1981? It's called (believe it or not) Here Comes the Night. Blondie wrote the music and David wrote the words; Blondie also plays all the guitar and does all the backing vocals. The title track is not the Beach Boys' song (nor the Them song) but a new original. It rocks hard throughout. The funny thing is, although they started out sounding nothing alike, Blondie now sounds somewhat similar to David, particularly when David is singing in his more gentle, soulful style. At 2:34 in "Here Comes the Night," a call-and-response vocal exchange begins and I honestly am not 100% sure whether the response vocal is David or Blondie.

Anyone listened to the album yet? Am loving it so far. Yes, I listened all the way through this afternoon while washing a bookshelf and dusting its contents. Blondie is certainly in great voice, effortlessly breaking into falsetto where necessary. I think your original choice to check out, "Maybe I'm A Queen", is the stand-out track, although I'd have to hear the album again (with the next shelf?) to get a more rounded picture of it...
