So, I bought this on Kindle, and I got to the introduction of the Wilson family, and the other band members, and this is the first line of the entry for David:
"David Lee Marks was born in Hawthorne on August 22nd 1948."
Which sure as hell doesn't bode well for the rest of the book. This could get... interesting.

Andrew I fear that error must be widespread. Do a Google search for where was David Lee marks of the Beach Boys born and you'll see the big old name of Hawthorne pop up. Looks like that's based on the Wikipedia page which is incomplete and ambiguous at best. any book that starts with such a sloppy error doesn't bode well. Keep us posted.

On how many books will that photo grace the front cover?
- BW My Own Story, paperback (obscured by the artwork)
- Heroes and Villians, Gaines, Da Capo Press paperback reprint
- BB FAQ by J Stebbins
- Pet Tracks
Any others?
Is it public domain or something?

So many errors and/or typos... and a personal grouse: although 10452 is clearly a major source, it's not actually listed as such. In fact there isn't a standalone list of which websites he did consult.

I note on Amazon that they actually quote you by name on the paperback edition, Andrew - whilst if you access it via the Kindle link they quote an ‘anonymous fan’ !

Yeah... the author got in touch with me about that "anonymous" fan, so I told him it was me. Wish he'd got in touch earlier and asked me to do a little light proofing...
