I get the feeling that a rather huge number of people contribute to the Beach Boys story. I’d say hundreds anyway. If you look at the band themselves, their producers, engineers, collaborators, live musicians, and many more categories, there must be several hundred names there. I have always been amazed at the connections between people, and I reckon that due to the many associates of the band, there is a good chance that millions of people today are no more than six degrees away from America’s Band. Even us listeners can count ourselves as being connected by just playing their music in our own environments. In any case, the vast majority of us will find a connection to the band. I’ve also got more direct connections, such as having seen a Beatles tribute band live, given that Brian Wilson and his band have a lot of connections with the Fab Four, having covered a few of their songs, and getting inspiration from them for the likes of Today!, Summer Days and Summer Nights, and Pet Sounds to name but a few. Plus, I’ve been to Glasgow, and Liverpool where Brian and people connected to him have performed. I am enriched by this information, and I will also state some other important details of me thus: - I use this forum
- I am a amateur musician
- I know all of the bootlegs
- I am also the true successor all those wonderful men who produced and engineered Beach Boys recordings and contributed to them in other ways. I realise that I should be as glorious as the Wilsons, Johnstone, Blane, Kaye, Britz, Melcher, Asher, Parks, Phillips, Was, Paley, Desper, Becher, Venet, Levine, the two cheeky chappies who did all those sexy box sets over the last seven years, and even that hippy stoner guy who originated the country album and somehow had something to do with 50th anniversary proceedings, in particular the glorious TWGMTR and its disciples.
If any of you wonderful gracious human beings has any leads for my career as a musical force, then please do state them in reply to this communication. If you would rather make a fool of me, then please do so in musical form, it would be more amusing to me that way.
Thank you, and if you want me to add my name to you credits, then don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Please avoid anyone who looks like me though, they’re nothing but trouble, presumably.
I remain our humble servant, Dan “Desperitzenetaleyilsonasecherevine” Tennant (A resourceful guy)

Hey man, if you tell us anything coming up or down the pipeline I'm up for it or have any cool stories awesome. I'm also an amateur Musician. Play some Guitar, Piano, Trumpet and Drums. I have devoured all the studio Boots from Spank, Sea of Tunes etc. I have since moved onto the official stuff and bought everything from Big Beat 1963 up to Sail On Sailor 1972-1973. I don't have MIC or Good Vibs 30 Years though. I don't know anyone from the band or associated. Just a huge fan since 1993 or 1994. I've never seen Brian live, only Mike and Bruce twice. I like knowing that fact that the band played on their music and also that the Wrecking Crew contributed as well. I even like going full nerd and reading about who played on what song or how it was recorded..

I once worked with a woman who'd met Hitler when she was a child. I've also met Brian Wilson.
How many degrees of separation can you use to connect the BBs with the horrific dictator of your choice?

For all Murry's flaws, he was the one who knew the business and didn't take much crap, and kicked down doors for the band to get established back then. So you gotta take the good with the bad.

I take full responsibility for bringing him up, but please don't compare Murray to Hitler. 😆 (not that I think you were) For all his faults he loved his sons, and as is often the way, he was a victim of abuse himself. Hitler was just a psychopath. It is true though, I really did work with said woman, in a 'meals on wheels'kitchen of all places.

Yikes, and I've just mispelt Murry as well. I hovered, and thought 'a' or no 'a'.

When I went to see BW at the Hollywood Bowl I met two delightful elderly ladies, one of whom had been Audree Wilson’s hairdresser back in the day.

No offence was intended to anyone. In fact, I’m the least offensive person I know. Do not forget to pass me any contacts for music people you know. I appreciate any leads I can get. After all, I am on a mission to be as good as Stephen Desper or Steve Levine. I’m just as musical as them, for heaven’s sake.
I will be waiting for my perfect opportunity. Please do support me in all that I do.

Yeah, I make music, too. In fact, I've got an album I've been working on for nearly 40 years. I was going to call it Grin, or Childish Adult.

My own setup at home is not very good.

How good does it have to be? I've been sharing my shitty sounding recordings with people most of my life. You just make the best you can with what you have. Sometimes I like a cassette demo better than the finished studio recording.

I think that if you tried to help yourself a little instead of sitting back and basically asking everyone else to do the legwork, you might garner a better response. IMHO.
