Mods, can we combine the three threads on this book into one, please?
Nater, I hope you have deep pockets. The rest of us are waiting for a mass-market edition of the book.

Just had an exchange with Howie and he told me there will be a "regular" edition.

Genesis are the people that published George Harrison's book I Me Mine. There was so much demand for it, that eventually a mass market version was produced. Just had an exchange with Howie and he told me there will be a "regular" edition. Also confirmed by Rolling Stone: "The 'bookstore' version of the autobiography will arrive in hardcover form in 2024..."
If a mass market version is demand-dependent, I suspect there can be no absolute guarantee at this stage that one will appear. Would love for the matter to be proven otherwise.

Is it bad when American Express emails you back and its says:
This is about your purchase of the new book The Beach Boys by The Beach Boys for $1400. We have declined your purchase as part of our customer protection service. Because, for this amount for a book....no. Just no.
AmEx is smarter than I am.
(and yes this is a joke).

More like what, getting screwed with lubrication? If that floats your boat, Gerry; go for it. I won't tell.

When I see the heading "The Beach Boys by the Beach Boys", I think of a self-titled album by a certain group of surfers from Hawthorne, California.

Holy yikes ! It appears that this has now been fully subscribed (i.e. SOLD OUT) !

My guess is that, just as there are people who'll buy literally anything by their favourite band, there are Genesis Publications collectors. 415 isn't such a big edition (the Genesis TLOS book has yet to sell out in a larger run). I can wait for the mass-market version.

I expect that many of the orders are from casual fans who are primarily book collectors. But good sales on the boutique editions point to a larger market for the regular hardback edition yet to come.

Just had a look. Some nice pix I've never seen before, but one raised an eyebrow. It's Bruce, with the setlist written on his hand and dated April 1966. Except, it can't be, because one of the titles is "Wouldn't" and another is "Vibes". Hm. Hmmm.

There's a 7-page preview/feature in the new (April) issue of Uncut… Bought a copy on the strength of the cover line but wish I’d saved my pennies. The photos are good – terrific in one or two instances – but there’s probably fewer than 600 (maybe 700 at a pinch) words over the entire seven pages, including the stand first. Is this a prelim of what the book’s going to be – a glorified picture book with slightly extended captions “by” The Beach Boys (but not Dave, Blondie and Ricky because… something something)? Can anyone clarify please?

David, Blondie and Ricky are represented.
