It tough to say how long I've been a fan. The Beach Boys are such an iconic band that I have no memory of not knowing the greatest hits. I love great vocal harmony and had it in my mind even in my teens and twenties that I would end up taking a deep dive into the Beach Boys catalog someday despite only owning greatest hits cds. I would say around 2010 or so, in my late 20s, I started moving beyond the hits and exploring all the Beach Boys have to offer. I don't really have a favorite era. The catalog is so diverse that there are options depending on where my ear is at the moment. I love what Brian has done since the late 90s. I've seen the various Mike/Brian (and Al) bands quite a few times since 2011. I'm kicking myself for missing the 2012 tour however. The shows I've heard show I missed something special.
I am a overall music nerd with too much music. Besides the Beach Boys I love all corners of the Rock & Roll world. 50s rockabilly, Kiss, Jimmy Buffett, Elvis, Sinatra, metal and everything in between.
